Arrival Story:
Mom/Dad and his whole litter were fostered by Tovik Siberians. I adopted Teru when he was 9 weeks old. "Terulyk" means "friend."
Bio:
Terulyk's whole name will not fit in the space above. He is:
Willow Run's Terulyk CD WPD RE NAJ NA CGC TDI NAP NJP OAP. Terulyk is a sweet, wonderful boy and my very best friend. The photo with the big rosette was taken at the Siberian Husky National Dog Show in 2003. Teru was in the Rescue Parade. Each entrant received a rosette, medallion, and a tote bag of treats and toys!
Teru enjoys competing with me in obedience, rally, and agility trials. The alphabet soup after his name above is a list of the titles he's earned: CD= Companion Dog in obedience, WPD= Working Pack Dog from Siberian Husky Club of America. RE = Rally Excellent (first we had to earn Rally Novice and Rally Advanced), NAJ= Novice Agility Jumpers with Weave Poles, NA=Novice Standard Agility, CGC=Canine Good Citizen, TDI=Therapy Dogs International NAP=Novice Agility Preferred, NJP= Novice Jumpers Preferred, OAP= Open Agility Preferred (he earned this at age 11). The listing is to show that you can have a lot of fun competing with your rescued dog! Just get an ILP (Indefinite Listing Privilege)(now called a PAL number) from the American Kennel Club for your "purebred" dog, and away you go! Currently we are working to add yet another title to Teru's line-up: TD...Tracking dog. It is a lot of fun and he "gets it!" and loves it. This will be one of his "retirement" jobs as my wonderful boy is now 11.
