A Puppy's Life for me
Happy Birthday DeltaFebruary 27th 2007 9:56 pm[ Leave A Comment ]
Today is Delta's first birthday, well I posted a little late it was yesterday on the 27th!! I wasn't at home to celebrate with her and I'll put up pictures of her as soon as I take them but Delta had a birthday week last week when I was home.
Almost one year!February 15th 2007 7:50 pm[ Leave A Comment ] I am so very excited to say that next week my puppy will be one. I love her greatly and I am so happy she is with me. She's grown so much and is such a happy doggie! I have bought her several toys and all her favorite treats in bulk for her birthday. She will be in doggie heaven for a while. :-) I am so just so proud of her and everything that she has done. She has brightened up our house and have made things more active for everyone. She's really funny to watch and very cunning as well. Happy Birthday Delta!
Living La Vida LocaNovember 26th 2006 11:24 am[ Leave A Comment ] Well I went home to see Delta this past weekend and I must say she has a lot of fur. That salmon oil really does wonders to her coat as well as her dog food. She was so happy to see me that she wouldn't stop jumping up and down, up and down, up and down. She wasn't jumping up and down on me, just jumping. She gave me lots of eskimo kisses and then started following me around the house as usual. I keep forgetting to take my camera with me and she has so many cute eskie moments. She has truly turned into the perfect dog for me and my family. I let her cuddle with me in bed, but all she wanted was tummy rubs and back rubs. She loves to be brushed and I think she falls asleep when she's brushed or combed. Now if only I can get her to stay in a tub of clean water then grooming would be perfect!!
wow soo prettyOctober 7th 2006 4:04 pm[ Leave A Comment ] I have been away from Delta for a while because I'm in New Orleans to go to college. She's at home in Mississippi being watched by my family. I came over this week to see my family and Delta and I was so shocked at how beautiful Delta has gotten. Her fur is so soft and she's gotten a lot bigger. She's still pretty short but she's very vocal and look a lot more like an eskie than before I left. Her skin is also a pretty pink and she hasn't had any stomach or skin problems unless my family feeds her something she shouldn't eat. I feel like i've really done a good job with her because she is obedient, smart and good with people. When people come to the house she does bark and growl but if you tell her no she stops. I am really proud of her and I just love her to death. I can't wait to have another eskie. :-)
Update on Delta as well as a few other thingsAugust 2nd 2006 9:11 pm[ Leave A Comment ]
Well, i've come to the conclusion that she is allergic to the grass her belly turns red everytime she lays in the grass and plays in the grass. I didn't put her on the hypoallergenic dog food because she wouldn't iteat it and I know she wouldn't and it was a good thing that I didn't buy it because friday before work I had to make an emergency vet visit for Delta. She went outside to use the bathroom and I noticed her stools were loose. I wiped her behind and I saw blood. I was like on no. So I called to tell them I was coming in and they took her immediently. I also had to be at work at the same time. Luckily I work at Petsmart and the hospital is in Petsmart. I clocked in and told my manager Delta isn't well and is at the doctor's office. She told me to just go there and so I rushed back over. They did some test on her and luckily the vet told me it wasn't serious or life threatening but she has irritable bowl syndrome. They found no blood in her stools but they think some of the capillary veins around the colon burst and that's why I saw blood. I made a confession and told them that sunday she came to work and a few co-workers and I gave her pepperoni. I said it never caused this problem before, but then she also stole a slice of pizza and ran off with it and we couldn't catch her. So the vet and I both looked at each other and just laughed. I told her when she is on her puppy food she is fine but the minute she gets into something she isn't supposed to, this happens. Well they gave me another prescription dog food. Science Diet I/D. I bought that dog food and I couldn't let her eat all day. When I came home from work she was starving and biting at the I/D bag so I pour some out for her and she looked at me like what in the world is this. I took some kibble in my hand and I gave her some and she ate that and then ate a little more. I was supposed to feed her the I/D dog food for one week, but she completely refused to eat the dog food and went outside to go hunt for her own meals and kept bringing them inside. So after two days I took the I/D away and put her on her regular dog food and her bowels are perfectly fine again. Thank goodness.

Delta's vet visit not so well.July 14th 2006 6:25 am[ Leave A Comment ] Well, Ã've been really busy with Delta and work but I haven't forgotten about her dogster pals. Well, yesterday the vet visit wasn't so good. Her ear infection came back and her pyoderma is back and she may be on meds for the rest of her life. I was so upset over hearing this I almost cried. The doctor thinks she's allergic to something outside the house, maybe something in the grass. We are going to rule out food by putting her on Royal Canin Hypoallergenic dog food. I don't think it's her dog food. Plus, the food she is on is the only food she can eat without her body rejecting it one way or another. She's a sensitive dog I know, but I love her and I'll do whatever it takes to keep her happy. They also gave her a steroid shot, which I really didn't want because the word steroid just sounds horrible to me, but I knew it was for the best. She did very well and afterwords I gave her a yummy treat for her to eat. For a puppy that's only 4 months old, she sure is dealing with a little bit. It doesn't keep her down though. She's still active, but now i'm preparing her to sleep more often since everytime she goes on these meds she isn't as peppy. I know I should just be happy that's it's only pills she has to take but i'd rather not have her taking any type of medication at all. At least not until she's older. She's too young! Well, that's the sad news. The good news is she's is almost completely housetrained. I'm really happy about that.
Almost two months old and growingApril 23rd 2006 5:15 am[ Leave A Comment ] I will be two months old on April 27. I am looking forward to being two months. I went to the doctor last week and I had fun. I basically slept all day and didn't do much. Everyone kept holding me and kissing me. I didn't know who they were. Well, mommy says I have to go back this week for another check up. I don't feel sick anymore and I am very happy because of that. I got to play in water all last week because it was hot and that was fun. I've been having a very busy pup life. I play, sleep and eat. I'm having a great time and a great life!!
Not feeling too well.April 14th 2006 9:24 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Well, my baby Delta isn't feeling too well. She is having diahrea because I was trying to switch food on her and it was too rich. When I decided to go back to her original puppy food I mixed it in with royal canin and she ate just the royal canin. Well today she seemed to be doing better but when I left home she ended up messing all in her crate. I know she didn't want to do it, but my stepdad was outside when it happaned. Well she wouldn't go in the crate again until my stepdad removed everything. I bought some medication that will help with her diarrhea. It's penicillan. It's the same stuff my doctor gave me when my puppy Milo was sick. It will take a few days to kick in and I have to give it to her every four hours. As long as she gets better I'm happy. I just want her to feel better. She's playing and running around it's just that well she has the runs. I have to keep whiping her behind because of all the white fur and stuff. I have tomorrow off so i'll be watching her closely.
First day homeApril 10th 2006 3:42 am[ Leave A Comment ] Today is her first day home. Well, 4/9/06 was when she came home to me. At first she was very nervous as well as I was but when I took her home she mostly slept after I would play She is learning how to use the bathroom outside pretty quickly and she is really smart. I'm typing this entry so early in the morning because Delta needed to go potty and then she decided to play and since I can't sleep I was going to play with her for a little bit. She's more lively right now and she is trying to help me type her first diary entry. I know she should be in bed asleep right now, but a puppy bladder doesn't hold too long so I am expecting for about another week or so to be waking up late in the night having to take her outside. She is really taking to me and love to bite my hand and sheets lol. I'll post more later as delta is going back to bed now
