Arrival Story:
Chulo was abandoned at the local humane society at 6 weeks of age and needed to be fostered for another couple of weeks. After a few weeks of waiting there was finally room for him at the shelter. Much to my dismay (he was foster puppy #3 at the time) he had developed a tiny spot of ringworm. I agreed to foster him through treatment. Just when the ringworm was under control he became deathly ill. He had caught some sort of nasty parvo-like virus and nearly died. I stayed up with him for nearly 48 hours straight to make sure he made it (but almost certain he wasn't) and after losing half his body weight (10 lbs.) in 24 hours and not eating or drinking for 6 days , he managed to prove he's a survivor.

Bio:
Chulo was up for adoption with the Austin Humane Society, but having been his foster mom for so long I just couldn't give him up. Chulo is now a permanent part of our family!
