Six and counting ...

Ah, Spring! Our daily frolic on the Wabash Heritage Trail, the sun, running, swimming, and best of all ... CRITTERS!!! Since my last diary entry I have added three groundhogs, one possum and one raccoon to my tally, bringing my spring-kill total to six (not bad, considering I have arthritis in one of my front legs from a pin after being hit by that horrible, speeding, Jeep Cherokee!).

Mommy takes us out during the day in an effort to prevent my hunting forays (she knows we need to play off-leash, and she knows I need to be "a dog," but sometimes she still cries when I do my "thing"), but to no avail. I WILL find them, be they in tree, hole or rotted stump. I am THE (dog)MAN!

Spring at last! Today, I spied a groundhog obliviously feasting on the hillside near the park offices and away I dashed! He was a small specimen, but still, a dogman must hone his skills early in the hunting season! The pudgy vermin had no chance against my hunting prowess.
