Okay...this is embarrasing.
Leave A Comment | 27 people already have Yikes! You've got us itchin over here now. Good luck gettin rid of those little critters! I imagine washin all bedding and vacuuming to get all the creeps and eggs might help. But peepoles lice, the eggs are kinda sticky, we think. Hope sumone else can give you sum ideas. Calmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Breatheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Just like human ones.. they only like CLEAN animals... they go to cats too ! Calmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm All is well........ life and lice happen........... Mommy has seen a dog with dog lice before. The owner used special shampoo on the dog and they went away. I wouldn't worry to much about it because, like Flicka said they only like clean animals and a special shampoo kills them. Zoe- Yeah, mom put all our bedding and blankets in plastic bags to go to the laundry (where the machines are huge). Times like these makes mom realize we have TOO MANY beds and blankies. Four large bags of our stuff!! Mom vacuums every single day anyway. Her day doesn't feel right unless she vacuums! BOL! Flicka- My mom freaks out whenever bugs are involved... especially when they're on us. She just can't help it. In her mind, she sees the whole entire house infested with whatever kind of bug she finds on us. She just thinks that she'll never be able to get rid of them. She gets majorly bummed. She's crazy that way! (Thank God we've never had fleas. I'm sure that would kill her! BOL!) Yes, she got Frontline for the kittehs too, even though the vet said those little creeps are host specific. Better safe than sorry. Monty- You wouldn't happen to know what kind of shampoo it was? Hmmmm...maybe mom should throw us in some filthy stuff and rub it in to make us extra dirty. Then the creeps will want to leave. BOL! Too bad she gave all of us a bath yesterday. ;) OMD - Scratch, scratch, scratch....I've been scratching ever since we got back from New Mexico...DANG....is this something we are going to have to look foreward to? Momma wants to know what the name of the shampoo is also...just to be on the safe side...Scratch, scratch, scratch... Coco Rose- We've never seen lice in our lives before, so I don't think they're that common, or maybe they're becoming more common...I don't know. We think each area in every state has it's own kind of creeps. I know we have those brown dog ticks. If you're gonna get ticks (ick), mom prefers these (not really) because they're big and way easier to see. We're in Albuquerque - we don't know where in NM you pups were at. Mom can't remember the name off hand but, she does know a vet gave it to the lady and it was pretty much Nix for dogs. (The lice shampoo people use.) As for the lice being common thing. I honestly don't think they are very common anywhere. I mean sand fleas are more common then dog lice. So Coco I wouldn't worry too much about it. Mommy thinks part of the reason why you are so itchy Coco is because, New Mexico is a lot cooler then California and the climate change is probably drying out your skin and coat. Yuck! Glad you got good advice from your vet. Never seen those on pups befur, but growlmy has seen them on peeps years ago...now we are all itchy here, too...reminds her of what an old veteran used to say to her a lot...he had some kind of dementia...'Got a crab?' BOL! Hey MJF! Got a crab?! BOL! OMD, dat doesn't sound fun! No, Whitley, it doesn't. One good thing though, if you want to call it good, is that the creeps don't survive long without a dog to be on. What we've read is they live their entire lives on the host. So...if they fall off, they die. DIE YOU LITTLE SUCKERS FROM HELL!!! Oh, sorry. I think I went overboard there. Lice on you?? Hope those little suckers drop off and die soon! Shake, Redford Shake! Shake those suckers off! Mommy says she will go check on some medicated shampoo later and see if any of them may kill the lice. Let you know once she gets the idea. Thanks, Milo, my good friend. I wish I could say, 'No, not on me', but they are on me... and on the others I'm certain. They are dieing with the Revolution though. Yayyyyyy! Drat, Redford! Hope them little buggers are gone soon! Wags and licks to all! No worries, Redford. You're going to have a fluffy, clean coat after all of the shampoo baths. You's mean lice doesn't like dirty dogs? Hmmmmm.....Auntie I's never taking unnudder bath cause I's doesn't wanna get lice! You's mean lice doesn't like dirty dogs? Hmmmmm.....Auntie I's never taking unnudder bath cause I's doesn't wanna get lice! OMD! I sure hope you get rid of those soon! Tell your Mom not to worry... It could have been much worse... (Can't think how right now but it sounded good) No really.... Bugs need resources to live.. Take that away and poof! No more bugs.. The shampoo will do wonders.. I am sure!! you will be back to your beautiful self in no time!! xoxoxo Sasha Pepper- Me too!! Riley- I know, right!? Ceeley- I really don't think Auntie's gonna fall for that! Diesel- Oh you have no idea how bad mom wants that! Sasha- Yeah, that did sound good, and yes, I hope it'll be real soon! omd, I never heard of this either on us pups...Im sure you will get rid of them all very soon. Hang in there! I'm sure we will, Petey. We're hanging in there for sure!! Wow! Mom says she has seen flea products that say they also treat lice, but she really never heard of a canine getting them. You probably got them from a little human. Thanks for warning us about this. Well, Rose, the good thing (if you want to call it good!) is that lice are species specific. That means that dogs can only get dog lice, cats can only get cat lice, birds can only get bird lice, humans can only get human lice, etc. So I didn't get them from a human. I have no idea where we got them from, but I do know they came from some dog one of us must have brushed against at someplace one of us went to. At least that's what my mom thinks. Then it spread like wildfire to each one of us. ICK! Anyway, we did forget to UPDATE that none of us have lice anymore. We got rid of those suckers long ago, thank God! Mom's given us lots of baths (I HATE baths!) with KILLER SHAMPOO and they went to lice heaven...or maybe I should say lice hell!! Wow! Glad you got rid of them. Mom won't let me visit dog parks. She worries about me "catching dog viruses". Now we know we are ging to be more careful around other canines. We're all glad too, Rose. Especially my mom! We used to go to the the dog park all the time long ago (way before the lice, BOL!). Then my mom started thinking like your mom. Bummer...for us pups. We absolutely loved to go there! |
