Baby kong, everlasting treat ball (without treat-go fig!), and tennis balls. And oh yeah, Momma's socks.

Favorite Food:
Wellness, ice cream, and whatever we're eating.

Favorite Walk:
Commonwealth Lake Park or the beach...or around PetsMart on a rainy day.

Best Tricks:
Sit, catch, fetch, doing the dishes and cleaning the kitchen floor after I've been cooking. Oh, and she's a great foot-warmer on the couch or in bed!

Arrival Story:
Over the holidays, my hubby finally agreed that we needed a four-legged baby in our lives. We found a great rescue group in our area, and Dori had just come to them from a rescue group in Taiwan! She came with a couple of other pups for a home visit, but it was love at first sight! We knew she was the one for us, and two weeks later she was moving in. We've gone from trying to imagine what life would be like with a dog in the house to not being able to imagine life without her in just a few short months.

Bio:
Dori is a funny little character-we can't believe how much she's grown since she came to live with us, and not just size-wise. She has really come out of that shy little shell, and now she's pleased as punch to play with whoever comes to the door and to greet all the other pups in the park.

P-O-O-L is a 4-letter word

That's right pups, POOL is a 4-letter word. Just like another bad word...BATH! Momma put a little water in my pool the other afternoon, and then we went wading in it. I didn't really like it, but Momma seemed to have a good time. Personally, I think it's too much like a bathtub and not enough like the beach. Where are all the dead crabs and seaweed to sniff? Where is the sand to get between your toes? Where is the wind that makes your ears do that funny flappy thing? Not in the pool, that's for sure.

Don't you think it's strange?

Last night was the first night of doggie school. The peculiar thing is that doggies didn't get to go...just their people. So Momma went to doggie school without me, although she didn't learn very much. I told her to fetch the stick, and she just looked at me and made a face. I told her to throw the kong, but she was too busy watching a dragonfly. I told her to lay on the floor so I could bounce on her, but she said she was happy on the couch. She's got a long way to go if she's going to call herself well-behaved!

In other news, she brought this big blue round thing home with her last night. Momma called it a swimming pool. She said when it gets hot we'll put water in it so we can cool off our toes. Today is nice and sunny, so maybe I'll get to play in it tonight! Woof!

Monkeys Must Die!

Daddy was cleaning out his room tonight. He said the dust bunnies were making his nose tickly, so he sucked them up with the vacuum cleaner. He could've just let me take care of 'em...but he gave me something else to work on instead. It seems there was a very pesky monkey hiding in his office, so he asked me to handle it.....AND I DID!!

I took that rotten sneaky monkey out in the back yard and I let him have it. I bit him and I shook him and I tossed him and I chased him. I swung him around and I body slammed him. I pounced on him. I even tore one of his legs off. Just when it was getting really good (the stuffing was starting to leak out) Momma came over and took him away....she said she didn't want me urping up monkey-fluff all night long. I can't believe she interrupted my hunt like that, sheesh. She has no respect for my mighty hunting skills.

In honor of my hunt, Momma is putting the video on my page-yahoo!
**Warning: The monkey hunt video is rated PG (primate guidance suggested) due to extreme violence against a plush monkey**

I hope you enjoy the video. Daddy is still running that mean ol' vacuum, so I'm going to go hide in the bed.

Kelpie Kisses,
Dori the Destroyer
