Puppy Power PawEVER!!!!!

Holy Moly pup pals!

Man, my life is so hard! I mean, PLEASE! What do these humans think I am?

I know that secretly, deep down inside my furry little body, that I am really a human. For dog's sake, I know that I have 4 legs, a tail and stuff, but why is it that I can do the following??

1. Sit in the lounge chair just like mum and watch the news?

2. Want to sleep in a soft warm bed, UNDER the blankets. Do you see "THEM" sleeping on the floor? Fair enough, when they go camping they do, (cept for my mum) but every single night?

3. Eat from a bowl on the floor? Geez, like to see what happens if I made THEM do that!!!

4. Sit in the back seat of the car and just enjoy the wind in my face? I know that if THEY could drool and slobber everywhere THEY would. THEY are just bound by "manners". To boot with manners. If you are gunna enjoy yourself, then just enjoy yourself!!!! Let yourself go folks! Hang it out!!!!! Be free!!!

5. When THEY go to the doctor, does he take THEIR temperature like he takes mine? NO WAY! I'm sure there is some sort of law which prevents that kind of abuse!!!

Of course, the list could go on and on, but, "Ladies and Gentleman of the doggy jury, I rest my case".

I know that you all agree with me, because each one of us is called "my furry daughter/son" so I wish they'd make their minds up!!!! One minute we're a dog, next we're their child.

And thanks for the emails yesterday regarding the whole Cyclone Larry thing! It's nice to know my pup pals care about me!

Blame it on Cyclone Larry!

Hey all my puppy pals!! So barking sorry about the time lapse! But mum and step-dad have been soooo busy! We have moved house in the time since I last updated you all. What a time THAT was. Please don't let them ever move house again. HORRIBLE.

Well, so much has happened since I last barked to you all. Life has been hectic and I've even been sick! I haven't been walkies for ever so long and my step -daddy decided that I needed some exercise. Well.....That is the last time they take me THAT far. My poor broken down body was in so much pain I had to go see Dr Wade. It was terrible. I had my temperature taken (EEEW) and a needle in my neck. Shocking treatment!!!!

Anyway, it turns out it is probably arthritis and I'm not allowed to go for such long walkies anymore. Hmmmm. We'll see about that. I'm only 6 for doggy sake. Not 60!!!

Hope all my pals are well. I've missed barking with you and please keep in contact. I need my pals........

Well, better go. Mum is busy at her new job and my lovely step-daddy is busy working from home again, my brothers are all at school, so I've got to go bake my hooters in the sun.

Not that there's been a lot of sun since Cyclone Larry came to visit us. That was a terrible time. I was soooo scared! The wind was terribly scary and loud! Trees were snapping all around and flying down the street. I went under the bed and stayed the hell there! Are you kidding? I'm not going anywhere near any windows! Fools!!!!! Mum was working at the radio station then and had to go into work and answer phones with the disaster centre people. Someone rang up freaking out because they were trying to get home and a huge shed landed in the road in front of them, with it's doors intact. Just picked up and placed neatly in the middle of the highway!!!!!! INSANE!!!!!

Mummy went down to Innisfail with the Red Cross a couple of days after it happened and she said it was terrible down there. Devestated. Innisfail is about 30 minutes from where we live in Cairns and it was shocking. Just flattened. Completely. I don't ever want to go thru anything like that again. How scary.

Weekends.......

Well, the weekend is here again! Finally!!! It has been sooooo hot here in Cairns. Wow! Australia is in a weird climatic change for some reason. I heard that there is snow in the Snowy Mountains in the middle of summer! That's where my mum and step-dad go in winter for a holiday (without me) and they can't believe that it is snowing in Australia in the middle of summer!!!!

I have been staying inside in the air-con all week, because I just can't sleep outside! I never have and never will. Last night I slept on mums bed again, because she has air-con!!!! I was SO hot! I panted all night. I drank heaps of water, but was still hot.

Well, pals, I give you all my love and will see you in the Valentines Day parade....

There's smells and then there are SMELLS......

Hey Pals of mine.......

Well, sorry for the absence, but I haven't been too well in the stomach region lately!!! My brothers went to stay with their daddy again and I slept with mummy and my step-dad. I was a really good girl this time. I didn't get up and want to go sleep out in the lounge this time!! Unfortunately, that was the night I was unwell. I feel really really bad, but what is a girl to do??? I can't run around and spray perfume or deoderant myself can I? I didn't actually "do" anything, just the suggestion of it. I was slightly gassy, I think.

My step-dad even tried to breathe through the sheet but it wasn't sufficient to stop the smell! I, myself, didn't have a problem with it, however mummy and step-dad were struggling!!! It even woke them up!!!! Oops.....

However, I am starting to feel slightly better now and just have the occasional slip. I think I just needed some more fresh bones to chew!!!! Some roughage sounds super!!! I would be interested to hear how you pups have coped with the same problem. If your mum and dads have any suggestions for my mummy, please let me know. I know they don't like it and I am not fussed at having everyone run off and leave me alone on the chair all the time. It's not as if it's my fault!!! They feed me.

Doctor Doolittle

Morning pals.

Well, I overheard a conversation between my mummy and brother last night, in which they were talking about taking me to visit "Doctor Wade" who is the best puppy doctor in the whole world. HOWEVER!!! Doctor Wade does do just a few things that I don't agree with.

1. Take my temperature!! I mean, if I was sick I could understand it, but I am not. How would he like it if someone put something cold up his "Hello"??????
YUCK.

2. Clip my nails. I LOVE to grow my nails and don't see any need for them to be touched. I like to be elegant and beautiful, not look like a scrubber devoid of nails!!! I am going to have them painted one day to see if I look even more gorgeous.

3. Stick needles in the back of my neck! What is this????? Voodoo??? I have a perfectly good rump for things like this, yet they don't take advantage of it.

Well, time is running out for me this morning, so I had better scuttle back off to bed. It is raining and just the perfect bed weather so I am going to take advantage of it. Any excuse for a good lie in huh?

I just wanted to share with you all the horror of going to the doctor and see if anyone else feels the indignity of it too.

Oh What A Night!!!!

Hey pups! Oh what a night. Late December back in......yeah well I'm sure you all get the message......

I have had such an tiring day. All I seem to do is keep these humans happy! Do they know how hard we work to love them so tirelessly? Major puppies, I am telling you.

I love my mummy, step-daddy and brothers so much and I just love to show them how much.

Mummy hasn't been well lately and I have been sticking pretty close to her. I am worried and scared for her. Every time she gets upset I have to just jump on top of her and lick her face. She says that she needed an exfoliating facial, so I guess she liked it. I can't think of any way to show her how much I love her except to clean her!!!!

My brothers have been all over the place, with sleep-overs and work, so mummy has been trying to keep an eye on everyone and needs to get some rest. I am hoping to sleep in her big bed tonight but she keeps bringing up last weekend. I wish they would just get over it.....

Gotta go and love my mumma. She is the apple of MY eye.

My best night's sleep and my mummies worst!!!!!

Hi pups!!! Barks and licks all round baby! Well, yesterday my brothers went to stay with their daddy at the beach and it was just me, my mummy and step-daddy at home, all alone!

Mum and step-dad went to bed around 11pm and they let me watch tv in bed with them. I usually hog the king-size bed but they were so MEAN. They made me sleep across the bottom of the bed instead of between them!!!

I woke my mummy up around 1am and wanted to go out and sleep in the lounge by myself but about 10 mins later I decided that it was too scary and dark to do that so I jumped up and scratched and barked at mummies door til she woke up again and let me in.

I slept really well, BETWEEN them, and then needed some space to stretch so woke my mummy up again at around 3am. I went into the lounge and mummy went back to bed. I stretched a bit then got scared again so had to wake mummy up again by jumping at the door. Gee. She sure can take her time to get out of that comfy bed!


I snuggled up between them again, but felt a bit of a call of nature at around 5.45am. Woke mummy up again and got her to let me out the back door this time. She left the backdoor open and went back to bed AGAIN. Well, of course, when I was finished with my toiletries, I wanted to go back to that nice warm bed again. So I jumped up at the door again and this time my step-daddy got up and let me in the bed. I pushed mummy over and snuggled down next to my step-dad. Mummy got up around 9am and I stayed in bed til 10am with my step-dad.

Mummy was really cross with me, but I just can't figure out why?????? Hey, I didn't want to bother them by stretching and weeing on the bed, so why is she so cranky????

Anyway, my brothers have come home now so I can snuggle up with them again!!!! Yeah baby!!

Okay, better go and catch up with brothers. They missed me so much. I have posted a new photo taken of me in the BIG bed last night.

Weekend bliss?

Well, puppy pals, another weekend, another lazy day! I spent the last couple of days in bed with my mummy and step-daddy because they have had the flu and I just had to go out of my way to sleep in their big king sized bed with them to keep them company.
I know that I had lots of other work to do, however, my first priority is to look after my family. I don't like sleeping in their nice soft bed, under the doona and doing nothing, but I think it was worth it. I mean, hey! They look after me when I am sick, so it is only fair to do it for them.
Well, looks like they are better today, but my brothers are spending the weekend with their daddy so I will be all alone with my mummy and step-dad. I guess that means extra cuddles and kisses and I can sit on my mummies knee all day. Bliss. It is really really hot here in Cairns so I need to have the air-conditioner on all day. It was 33 degrees celsius yesterday and the humidity was horrible. It rained just enough to make me all sweaty and everyone knows that a lady doesn't sweat. She perspires. But I have to admit, quite delicately, that I did sweat!!! That's how hot it was. Yuck.
Well, I think I shall go and have another stretch and think about what to do today. Bed is looking really good!!!! Better go and kiss my brothers before their daddy comes to get them. I will miss them so much!!!

New Friends

Hi Puppy Pals: I am so barking happy, I could chew my own tail right off!!!!!! I have so many new puppy pals I could fall over and sun myself right now!!! How exciting. My new pals are so cute!!!! I have my eye on one little man, but the chances of us meeting are pretty remote, however, I can still dream about him. (I heard my mum and step-dad whispering behind my back that it wouldn't matter if we met because I don't have "the bits" whatever that means!!!!!)I must teach them not to be so rude as to whisper like that.

My mum and brothers tell me I am so lucky, but I don't need them to tell me. I know I have it pretty barking good. I sleep inside under the doona every night, and I will have you all know I have never slept outside a night in my life!!!!! I have just lost my New Years Resolution however, because my mum, step-dad and brothers all had bacon and scrambled eggs for breakfast and I just couldn't resist the bacon rind in my bowl. I tried to tell my mummy not to give it to me but she just went right on ahead and did it!!!!! Naughty mummy.

New Years Day

Whew!!! What a relief. It's finally over. I am SOOOOOOOOOO tired. People coming and going, kids running around! When can a dog just get some well earned rest??? Well, Santa came and visited me and brought me my favourite liver treats, a new chewy toy (which I destroyed in about 3 seconds) and some really tasty yummy food for lunch!!!!

You know, these humans are just so annoying. Just when the whole Christmas thing was over, along comes New Years Eve. Man, I tell you. If these humans are going to sing Karaoke, they could at least sing in tune!!!!

And they say that doggys howl???? We have nothing on them. I think they put the whole human race back to the days where humans only grunted and FOR GOOD REASON!!!

Well, another day, another sleep. I am just so worn out from the holiday season I think I need to slink off back to my nice warm bed which I share with my big brother. His doona is so nice and soft and warm.

Hope all my Puppy Pals had a great Christmas and I send you all generous licks and sniffs and all my best puppy dreams for you everyone.
