Arrival Story:
After my grandmother died in 1997, my 83 year old grandfather decided to get a dog. After months of research, Pop decided that the Australian Terrier was the dog from him. The Australian Terrier is not the most popular breed, so the search began. On Mother's Day in May 1997, we saw an ad in the Washington Post for a litter of Australian Terriers in Virginia. My dad, Pop, and I drove 120 miles (one way) to see the litter. We fell in love immediately and we came home with a puppy. Pop named him Jake. Jake was Pop's buddy and they did everything together. He was a great companion for Pop. Unfortunately a little over a year later, four days before Pop's birthday, Jake was hit by a car. He crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on August 5, 1998. Pop was devasted. So for his birthday, mom and I decided to get Pop another dog. He named her Molly and the two of them became inseparable until Pop passed away in September 2000. I promised Pop I would always take care of his dog. Now Molly has become part of my family.

Jake was a blue and tan Australian Terrier and registered with the AKC. His full name is Royal Jake Sydney D' Aussie.
