Good grief ...

So, this Annie dog we have in our house ... I don't like her. Look, I'm a ladies man really - I have my girls here (Sophi, Scarlet, Maycee, Molly and Gretchen) ... but Annie? She wants none of it. The girl marches to a beat a different drummer and I can't hang with that. She is crazy - I've decided that. So, until the girl can learn to simmer down ... I am just going to stay away. Although, I got to admit that I'm not crazy about the fact that she and Sophi like to play together ... I gotta keep my girls in line and Sophi keeps sneaking in some play bows with her ... humpf!

I WON!

Holy cow!!! My mom entered a photo of me in the Snow Dogs 07 contest and I WON! I WON! I can't believe that I won! I'm always in the shadows of Maycee but not today, today it is MY day! I can't believe I won! I'm very shocked and happily surprised! My mom said this is a big deal so I'm beaming right now!!! WOW!

Fall has arrived ...

Max here - now, the reason I'm totally stoked for fall is that the windows are open in the house. Yeah so we have a cool breeze through the house, which is always nice, blah blah blah whatever - but the great thing about open windows is that I can REALLY keep a good watch on things going on outside. I have to keep the house protected and being able to hear and see out the windows really sharpens my watch skills. And I have mad watch out skills!

Here are things that warrant a bark or two or three or four or five or six or ... from me:

kids walking past
kids riding bikes or skates past
walkers
people with strollers
people with other dogs
people getting their mail
people on their own property and not even walking past the home, but talking - it can disturb my mom you know!
leaves fluttering by
squirrels - I get Maycee involved on this one!
rabbits - again, Maycee gets involved here

I'm sure there are more but well ... I think I heard Pete and Max outside and that is just unacceptable! I must go tell them off!

Bow wow wow

Max here - wow, have I been busy! I've been doing agility all summer. Mom kept complaining about the heat - I guess it was like 120° heat index a lot through out the summer, just horrible - I sure didn't notice it. I love agility class. I love to do jumps and tunnels and whatever my momma tells me to! I just love it! We have So much fun! I just don't understand why she keeps changing things. She'll tell me to do the weaves and then she tells me to do them again but she is in a totally new position and I just don't get it. She gets frustrated but I am doing pretty good. Oh, but that board jump thing... what is that for? I just walk over it but mom keeps telling me to jump, but I don't NEED to, I can walk over it - duh!

I've done a few trials too, NADAC ones. And I figured out how to get out of my kennel and find the treat bag too. That is fun! But I got a tummy ache once from that. Then mom started like, locking the zippers or something, she doesn't even trust me, gosh!

Well, this month I get to do my first AKC trial so that should be fun...who knows WHAT I'll do! bark bark bark

Holy cow!

I had my first trial this weekend and wowzer is there a lot of stuff that goes on. There were lots of people there and dogs. I can't believe all these people came to do this. I thought it would be like class, but it wasn't. I got so excited about every time I went into the ring that I had to go check out who was watching me. I mean, it was so cool! I don't think mom was that happy with me because we had to stop in the middle of what seemed like a course but she never seemed mad. She was always laughing and saying I was a good boy. I am a good boy and I'm glad she is finally realizing this.

I about made her cry though because we got to go play in Touch-n-Go and I did really well. I stayed with her and ran really good. Plus, I saw the scramble board that I like so much and knew she would let me take it if I was good so I was trying to be really good. And yup, she sent me on the teeter and the walk it and also through some tunnels and finally the scramble! Oh man, I love that one. Scramble is the best obstacle to do. I could do that all day ... but mom won't let me!

Anyhow, she said I got my first ribbon, I got third place in that. I even beat Molly, and she has been doing this for a little over a year! HA! And Maycee didn't even get to go on the scramble cause she was too distracted. So I got to be the star!

Bark no more...

Well, my mom has finally crossed the line. She took away my bark. Well, not really. I can still bark, but then when I do, this orangy smelling stuff shoots out from my collar. I don't like that smell and it seems to only go off when I bark. Although, when Scarlet and Gretchen were barking it was going off too but they didn't stop!

But mom is telling me I'm being a very good boy and giving me treats and stuff, so, do you think she is trying to tell me to not bark? I don't understand why she wouldn't want me to bark. I bark because I am telling her everything that is going on outside. I think she should know what is going on, always need to be aware of surroundings, that is for sure!

But now, I don't give her as many updates and so far, she doesn't seem to miss them. Is it possible that my news is not as important to her as it is to me?!

WOW!

So that is what Molly and Maycee do! My mom has been taking me to agility class since this summer. I never understood what Molly and Maycee did and seemed to have so much fun doing. NOW I get it because I do it to! It is totally cool! I get to see lots of dogs at practice. Some I bark at and some I flirt with. I usually always get to run with two Shelties, they are good and fast! But last class I got to run with some taller dogs. I don't do well jumping 16" but mom is afraid that is what I am.

Anyhow, this is totally cool - I get to go to a trial. Molly and Maycee go and they say they are a blast, so I get to go and see next weekend. Mom said I am going to run in Jumpers and in Touch-n-go. Maycee tells me they are lots and lots of fun. Who cares though, I know there will be lots of things for me to see and smell and even talk to. Hopefully mom won't tell me to shut up!

I can't wait to see what this trial stuff is all about!

What the?!?!

I'm so mad! Mad is what I am! MAD! My mom got this BRILLIANT idea to block off the kitchen. The KITCHEN! The source of MY food and MY entertainment! What the?! What was SHE THINKING! Now, I can't go through the trash to make sure my mom didn't throw out something she shouldn't have! Why would she do this?! Why is she ruining my life!? WHY!?!
