I work at an Adult Home that houses the Mentally Ill.
I had off on Tuesday, May 4, and it was one of the Resident's (Tina) birthday. I asked my Boss if I could bring Tess by, and she thought it was a great idea. When we got there, the first Resident we saw, was a man in a wheel chair, Tess was a bit freaked out about it at first, so, we went inside to see Tina. I told Tina that Tess heard it was her birthday and just had to come down and wish her a happy one. Tina was thrilled to see her, petted her, hugged her, and kissed her, and even thanked Tess for coming for her birthday.
I brought Tess around to see the other Residents, and most of them were thrilled to get to pet her as well. I gave the Resident with a walker a treat, and Tess didn't seen to mind the walker at all. I brought Tess back to the man with the wheel chair, and she was fine. He got to pet her, and she gave him kisses.
All my co-workers and my Boss loved her as well, and she is invited to come back sometime as well. I was extremely proud of her. Someone tried to get Tess to jump up on them. I told them that she wasn't allowed, because her nails might accidentally hurt them, and Tess was good and didn't even try, which impressed everyone.
It was another great moment in the life of Tess.

On Saturday, March 20, 2010, I brought Tess to an APBA show. She gets to be in the Limited Class (Spay/Neuter class). She took three 2nd places.
However, the highlight of the day is Tess took the test for the CGC and passed! She really impressed me. I am very proud of her. Just wanted to throw that out there. :)

Well, not quite. LOL.
However, we have gotten Tess involved in weight pulling. Her first time out was pulling a cart and she pulled 400lbs. Her second time out was on the rails, and she only pulled 200lbs, but I think the noise freaked her out a little, so, we've been practicing and trying to get her used to the sound.
Besides, that everything is the same. Tess is still a great dog. :)

All the pups ended up getting homes.
Forgotten and Inbetween named Boo and Josie by their new owners went to their homes on October 7, 2007. Boo's owner's had an APBT before that died from a snake bite, they thought Boo looked a lot like him, so, it was love at first site. Josie owner's are a young couple with two young boys. They were thrilled with her as well.
Finally, Omega went to her new home on October 23, 2007. Her owner was a single young man.
Now for the updates, I haven't heard from Boo or Omega's owner in a while, so, I am not sure how they are.
The Big Female, named Layla, by her owners, passed away from unknown causes when they moved to their new houses.
Josie, aka Inbetween, was stolen from her family in February 2007. They were heart broken over it.
Magnus, aka the big male, is doing fantastic.
Destiny, aka Melvin's pup, is also looking great and is very loving.
Now for the ones we kept.
Hawken (aka Little Notch), Locus (aka Sigma), and Morgan (aka Left Foot) are all doing great. They are a joy to have in our lives, and are full of life and energy. lol.
Tess is doing fantastic as well, and got spayed March 3, 2008. She was out of it the first day, but recovered just fine. She is doing very well now, and is a great companion, and still tries to mother her pups from time to time. lol.

The Big Female has gone to her new home, but they promise to keep in touch so that we know how she is doing. We are pretty happy about this placement. They have two young children, and we believe she will be a great dog to them, and they will be great owners to her. They are big dog lovers, and understand that she is not the correct breed for a watch/guard dog, so she will not be used as that. So, another pup gets another happy home!

Yesterday Magnus and Melvin's Pup went to their new homes. We miss them already, but we will get to see them, and they will have better lives with their new owners. Soon the Big Female will be on her way as well. It's a sad yet happy moment. You know that you will miss them, but you think of all the love and attention they will get from their new home.

Now I get to choose 7 pals to tag.
Here are the rules:
Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged need to post in their diary the rules and their seven pawsome facts. They then chose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don't forget to bark a pmail that they have been tagged and need to read your diary or send a rosette announcing they have been tagged. Copy and paste rules in your diary then put in your info.
Here are 7 fun facts about Tess:
1. Tess was the runt of her litter as were Notch and Cuddles.
2. Tess loves to hunt down moths.
3. Tess loves dogs smaller than her. She got along with Princess (my sister's beagle) and our neighbor shitzu, but doesn't like our other neighbor's big dogs (boxer and chowchow).
4. Tess was born two days before my birthday!
5. Tess looks like her Dad, and wags her whole body like her Mama.
6. Tess annoys Cuddles by trying to lick her face whenever she gets near her.
7. Tess asks tough, and then will licks the person.
Here are my seven!

So, my Sister Sue's beagle, Princess has been living with us for almost three weeks now, because my sister and her family are getting settled in their new home in Utah, and then will send for Princes...
Anyway, I was afraid Tess was going to be tough to have around a new dog. I knew Cuddles and Notch would be fine, because Notch was around 3/4 and Cuddles was 11/12, when they met. Tess are born and raised with Notch and Cuddles, and always seemed aggressive toward the neighborhood dogs...
My fears turned out to be in vain. Tess and Princess play all day long, wrestling and chasing each other around the house, playing tug of war with Princess' stuffed turtle. It's adorable...
Notch also seems happy to have Princess around. Princess is a little afraid of Notch. I think because he looks so big, but Notch is happy, because he can finally lay down without Tess being in his face. We can pet Notch, and Tess is too busy playing, so Notch gets a good petting...
Tess is turning out to be quite a great dog. She knows her commands. She is just stubborn sometimes and decides not to listen, which drives me nuts, but I just keep working with her...
Well that's all for now!

Tess is finally out of the barn and out of heat, so she has gotten to come back into the house and rejoin the family, which as you can guess, she's super excited about...Today Cuddles, Notch, Tess, and I all took a two hour hiking in the mountains to help get all of Tess' pent up energy out. I was climbing up a rock that had a pretty big angle on it, and Tess just climbed up it like a mountain climber. I was pretty dang impressed...Anyway, that's all for now. We're all just happy to have Tess back with us!
