The Day We Met!
Mommy said I was a bad girlMarch 3rd 2010 3:16 pm[ Leave A Comment | 10 people already have ]
Daddy took me to the vet so the technician could shave the inside of my ear flaps and get a rabies shot. Daddy has never taken me before. Anyway there was a little fluffy doggy that was only about 6 inches tall there and I went after it growling but daddy had my leash and pulled me back. When he told mommy she got really mad at me. I have never ever done anything like that before. I am always the perfect girl at the vet and groomer. I'm always the alpha no matter where we are but I have never been vicious. The vet seems to think I was either protecting daddy because mommy is the one that always takes care of this stuff or because I am getting old and I wasn't feeling good.

HUGSSSSSSSSSS You are a good girl and Mommy will give you kisses later. Poor abused Sassy! I wonder, are you on the prednesone still? If so, I say you had temporary "Roid Rage". Love you, sweetie! Mickey the Buggy Boy Sweet Sassy, your family is going through some challenging times. Don't be too hard on yourself. Moms get mad sometimes, but they get over it, too. I am sure your mom will miss you too much tonight if you are not on her pillow. Auntie Sassy!! From what mom has seen in her many years of working for a vet, she'd say, unless you are on steroids still, that you were protecting your space. Many dogs who lose their hearing or sight or maybe both aren't too great, have a hard time dealing with it. And when their "alpha" human isn't at the other end of the leash, well.....they take advantage of it. That vet office might as well belong to you, you're in there enough. Plus, your daddy is sick, and you know it. I hope your mom isn't mad at you for too long. Tell her, from my mom, that she grooms one cocker that has been a biter since he was 6 mos old! He's bit his mom, dad and tries to bite mom every month for the last 4 years! So, I think you're doin' pretty well! Kissy moo-moo's, Lucy Lu Sassy, during my last year when I already had my heart problem, Mom took me to the vet for a check-up. I was siting there with her as usual, and lady sat across from us with a perfectly nice Boxer. Suddenly, I decided to lunge after the boxer (who was twice my size) and almost got away from Mom who had grabbed my collar. I was in attack mode for sure. She had to grab the nape of my neck to stop me. Never before, no warning, no nothing. Mom was shocked and sooooo embarrassed. From then on out, they brought me in through the side door, and I never waited in the waiting room again. They said it was a mix of being anxious, and not feeling great. So weird. I think that can just happen as we get older, especially if we're anxious. And the situation was odd for you to begin with, being with your dad instead of mom. Maybe just enough to push you past your anxiety limit. Tell your mom not to be too hard on you! I still wuv you Sassafras. I'll share my cookies with you. XO Rusty ROO That's a typical day for me Sassy. I bark and growl all the time at other dogs. BOL Oh sweety, I'll bet that was just a one in a lifetime slip from you, cos you're always such a wonderful, good girl, and I just know your Mummy will have snuggled you up by now again. We all have our bad days honey. We love you, and so does your Mummy and Daddy, far more than we ever could! xoxoxoxoxo Sassy! I have been "growly" at the vet- mom says :"What? are you growling?" It's just my age. We all get older. Don't be hard on yourself, it's okay. When our humans are having a hard time, it's hard for us, too. My human is going through a hard time- but, she fired her therapist! Yahoo! Be well, Love, Vinnie |
