I have been tagged by my pals Norbert and Hobo!!

The Rules: Each player starts with 7 random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged need to post in their diaries "The Rules" and their "7 Pawsome Facts."

It's been a long time....

WOW, it has been a long time since I posted!! Sorry about that!

To all the wonderful pups that have asked how my eye is doing, thank you so much for your love and concern. My eye has healed very nicely. Unfortunately, I did lose most of my vision in that eye, but it is lucky that I got to keep it my opthamologist says. Also, I do have a little peripheral vision, and mom thinks that I might have gotten a little more vision over the last few months, just a little more, but that is better than nothing! It doesn't bother me at all actually. I think it bothers my mom more than me. I get around just like nothing ever happened actually. Amazing how resiliant we dogs are huh? Well, I will let you all know if anything changes when I get my check up in a couple months. Thank you all again for your love, prayers and friendship!

Well, it is really cold here in Seattle right now. It has been a terrible month weather wise! We have set a record for the most rainfall EVER in a month since they started keeping records in 1890. Almost 16 inches! That doesn't make it much fun to go out and play, hrumph!! And last night, we set a low temperature record. It was 15º at our house last night! Can you say BRRRRRRRR??? We got snow the day before yesterday, and we are going to get more tonight before it turns back to rain tomorrow. What a wacky November!

Well, time for dinner, but I just wanted to check in!

Love, Bella

Oh everyone, I have to share this wonderful poem that my sweetie Java CheeseyBritches wrote for me. He is my special manhound from Flower Mound! Love you Java!

Written with Cheesy Love:
A poem for my sweet Bella as she recuperates.

To Bella My love
The girl so true
Who bumped her cone
on her mommy's shoe
And caught her cone
on the kitchen chair
that darn cone
messes up Bella's hair!
But someday soon
she'll wake up and find
that nasty ole cone
has been left behind
She'll wink with both eyes
big bright and brown
and blow a little kiss
to her cheesy manhound.

with love from Mister CheesyBritches

Me and my eye...

Well, I gave momma the scare of a lifetime last weekend, let me tell you about it...

The day was lovely, and momma and dad were outside in the yard all day, daddy working on his car, and momma doing yardwork and helping daddy. The doors to the house had been open all day so we could go in and out as we pleased (to our fenced yard of course!). Well, a little after 3:30, momma sat down on the rockery in the backyard to take a little break. A minute or two later I came from around the side of the house (the route I would take to get to the backyard from either the house or the front yard), and came and sat right on mom's foot. I sat down facing away from her though so she didn't notice right away, but within a few seconds, momma looked down and saw it. My eye had popped out of its socket. Momma grabbed me up and screamed for daddy to come right now, that we had to get to the emergency vet, and within seconds we were on the way.

It only took five minutes to get me to the vet. Momma jumped out of the car with me and ran into the vets office. She got in and said that I needed help RIGHT NOW and the lady called the back and a man came out and took me. He asked my momma if I consented to pain medication and she said yes. He took me to the back where they put lubricants on my eye (I hadn't been able to blink my eye for at least five minutes, very uncomfortable) and started doing pre-anesthesia bloodwork. Momma broke down after they brought me in the back. Crying and her whole body was shaking, she was terrified for me. Daddy filled out the paperwork for her cause she couldn't write. They had mom and dad go into a room and the nice vet lady came to talk to them after she had looked at me. She told my parents that this happens all the time to Brachycephalic (short nosed) breeds. Our eye sockets are very shallow and we have big buggy eyes. She said it takes very little force to knock the eye out of the socket (a condition called proptosis). The eye is still held in by the muscles, but it is just pushed out. The vet told them that she had done this surgery many times before, and what she did was very gently put the eye back in the socket and then suture it closed for two weeks so that it could heal. Most dogs loose their vision their eye after this, but some will have vision. Momma is praying very hard that I will have sight in my eye. The vet says that it was very good that they got me help as quick as they did, and that I still had good muscle control and some sight right before the surgery, so hopefully my chances are good.

Well my friends, please say a little prayer for me that I heal up well and that I can see out of that eye. We will get the stiches out in two weeks and we will keep everyone updated. I have been doing very well the last couple days, just taking it easy and resting.

Thank you for all your love and prayers everyone!
Love, Bella

Well, thanks to my boyfriend Java MusclePants and his family, momma got a new recipe to make some fantabulistic Turkey Muffins!! Oh boy, they are the best ever! I was starting to feel like I was living in some kind of nightmare cause momma put me on a diet, but now I think I am in heaven!! Thanks for the yummy treats mom!

We went to the off leash park today, like we do most days if the weather is decent. You know I don't like to get my feet muddy. We had a good walk. Some young Boston came up to me and started spazing out so I had to teach him who was boss. Momma got mad though and embarassed me in front of everyone by making me lay on my back!! How mean! I should be able to kick a little butt every now and then, but momma doesn't think so, unless somedoggy is picking on me anyway. Hurrummphh!!

Well, now after I have had my late night Turkey Muffin snack, I am doing my best job of holding down the sofa so it doesn't float away. I am getting tired...I can see the back of my eyelids....oh darn... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

A little this and that...

It is Saturday morning and I started out the day JUST RIGHT!! Daddy and Olivia (the human girl) got up early like usual. I usually stay in bed with Momma and Monster for good snoozing, but today I thought I would get up with Daddy and Olive. I told them I wanted breakfast with Mo and Filo so today I ate with my brothers. Well then I went back to bed with momma and Monster. Well, momma didn't even realize that I had snuck out of bed earlier, and so when she got up, she fed me breakfast like she always does. Well, I am pretty good at acting like I am SO hungry that momma had no idea that daddy had already fed me so I got TWO breakfasts!! Woo hooo!

Well, yesterday when momma took us all to the park, this guy looked at me and said "aww, what a cute old man". TO ME!!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT??? I really hate it when people think I am a boy. It hurts my feelings. Maybe momma needs to buy me a new collar that is more girly, although she thought the one I usually wear is pretty girly, I mean, there aren't too many boy dogs that wear leopard print!! Well, I gotta go but I will bark to you all soon!!

Ciao - Bella

Poor me....

I had to stay home today while momma took Mo up to Pasado's. She said I couldn't come because I bark my darn fool head off at all the dogs, even though I don't really mean anything by it. But momma said that the dogs there are big and old, and don't like to be barked at, and she is afraid I might get "schooled" by one of the big dogs that don't need me barkin' at them. So I had to stay home, hrrrmmphh!! I sat by the door a lot, and barked a lot at the people that dare walk by MY house. I thought I was momma's special girl. I don't like to be left at home, with the cats and Molly. I should be out in the world, telling everyone what I think!! Well, I have to go to bed now, it is past my puggy bedtime, but momma, I WILL REMEMBER THAT YOU LEFT ME AT HOME!! Kharma, momma, kharma....

Happy birthday to me!

Hi everydoggy! Wow, this sure has been a great day. When I got up, I saw that Dogster had given me bones for my birthday. Then I discovered that my favorite pug group "for the love of pug" (you can check out the link on my page if you like!) had chosen me to be the featured puggy for two days, special for my birthday! I have made a lot of new pals today which is always so much fun. Then momma took me shopping and I got a new pink fleece jacket and some yummy treats! I put my feather boa on and we walked around the West Seattle Junction where there are some really neat shops, and everyone said I looked so darling in my boa. The only bummer so far today is that I miss my brother Monster. He is at his daddy's house and I can't see him until tomorrow. He lives half the week with mom and the other half with his dad. We will go pick up Monster and Filo tomorrow and then go straight to the dog park. I will even wear my new coat!!
Right now I am cuddled up on the couch next to momma, where you can usually find me. I am a relaxation connoisseur. Unless there are any animals in that stupid yappy box in the living room. I get so mad when those pesky dogs, unicorns, cartoon fish, dinosaurs, or whatever try to come into MY living room! Sometimes I go so ballistic I jump up and hit the little button on the front of the glowy box and that makes the intruders go away!! Sometimes I run around behind the box and try to sneak up on those intruders but when I go back there, I can't find them, but I can still HEAR them, those sneaky intruders!! Well, there is nothing but skaters and skiers and stuff in the box right now, so that is okay, but look out you animal intruders, I will get you, I PROMISE!!
Well, thank you to all my pals who sent me lovely birthday notes and bones, I really appreciate it!! I am a little tuckered now so I will write more later. Goodnight...sleep tight!
ciao - bella
