It's raining outside. And it's a weekend day, which means, that no matter how much I bark and plead, Nicki will not take me out of the house. She has stopped falling for this trick. The last time it rained and I asked to go out, she obediently took me. I was so proud of how well she had taken to her training. I went outside, saw the rain, and abrubtly turned around, and pulled her back into our house. There was NO way I was going to be drenched, especially since I didn't really need the potty break. So now, she has decided that I will stick to my weekday schedule for bathroom breaks on rainy weekend days. To exact my revenge for this inappropriate behavior, I have decided to bark loudly at things out the window all day long.
But, I have to admit, there are certain perks to being housebound on a yucky day. I get to have treats, I've finagled multiple belly rubs, and I get to share Nicki's tunafish sandwich.
Last night she was doing that "knitting" thing again. I hate it when she does that. What is the point of tying string in knots with pokey sticks? It's one of those eternal mysteries about human behavior that I'll probably never understand. Anyway, it was really annoying me that she was playing with string and not with me, so I woofed at her over and over until she fetched my squeaky chicken. I love my squeaky chicken with all my heart and soul, so naturally, I am determined to dismember him. I had succeeded in removing a small portion of his fluffy entrails when Nicki TOOK HIM AWAY! The nerve. I moved on to play with my less exciting stuffed toys, but these were unsatisfactory, so I started barking at Nicki again. Finally, the girl got the picture and sat down on the floor for a round of the bitey-sleeve game. This is my most favorite game, it's even better than Kill-The-Chicken. The object of the bitey-sleeve game is to attack the end of Nicki's sleeve before she pokes her hand out, thus ruining the illusion of a giant green worm sliding across the floor. The worm is dangerous and dastardly, and I am the only dog brave enough to take him on! Watch out sleeve-worms....you'll all meet your demise!
