Wow - I didn't realize it had been so long since I posted something here. I've been feeling pretty good the past few years and in good health. Mom has taken me to some chiropractic sessions occasionally, plus, we switched my food to Nature's Variety raw medallions, which seems to help alleviate my arthritis or joint pain. The food is yummy, and now Mom hardly has to take me in for chiro adjustments either!

I passed a milestone for me last August 10th. I am now an A.K.C. Canine Good Citizen!! Yay for me!! Mom and I have had a lot of fun taking a bunch of different classes as refreshers, so I was a total rock star when it came time to take the test. W00f! Bullys represent, yo!

My aching back...

Well, I'm only 6, but I've started having painful back problems. It really hurts to jump up on the bed or even take the stairs. Last winter was the worst! There were days I could hardly move. Mom takes me to the vets office about once every two weeks for acupuncture. Plus, I'm on some pain meds to help when it's really bad. This has helped quite a bit, plus the weather is nicer, so I'm gettin' my spring in my step again! Like mom says, this will be an ongoing issue, but hopefully, I'll still be able to enjoy our walks and snuggle on the sofa for quite some time. Until next time....WOOF - K-dog out

I have SPRING in my step!

Well it's springtime and I am SO happy! I have been able to get outside, smell all the things growing again and see the neighbors on our walks. Our neighborhood has come to life. Lately, Mom and I have met up with other friends (Mom's fellow dog rescue volunteers) and their pups. We walk around Lake Calhoun, Lake of the Isles, or Lake Harriet in Minneapolis. We do this once a week, and it's been a great time to walk with the pack and check out the new smells and scenery. I'm super tired when I get home, but boy is it worth it! Till next time... - WOOF - K Dog Out -

October, 2008 - Annual Update

Well, another year has passed, and a lot has happened. It became clear after about 8-10 months that my doggie bro Elmo wanted to be the only dog in the house, and needless to say, I'm not down with that. He was great fun for several months, but I think the pack dynamic just wasn't right for him - - OR me! Dang. I really wanted a doggie sibling, oh well. The good news is that he is in an awesome home with a loving mom. My mom has even babysat for him occasionally, so Elmo and I still catch up on the dog gossip now and then. It's nice to know that his mom and my mom stay in contact. Now we're both lucky pooches.

These days, since I'm the only dog in the house, I spend my time chilling with mom and friends. I even get to go to doggie daycare or to mom's office sometimes. I have had a much busier social calendar this past summer and fall. Good thing I'm a social pup. Until next time...Woof - K-dog out!

Sad Day for me but Exciting for Elmo!

Well, as of late April, my bro Elmo moved on to live with his NEW mommy. He told me that he really missed being an only dog and needed to have more attention. I understand. Every dog has their own needs. I like being part of a pack, but Elmo really likes being the only dog in the family. That's A-OK. So I'm bummed - I'll miss the little guy. But the good news is that he doesn't live that far away, and our moms chat every once in awhile. In fact, Elmo will be visiting for a few days later this summer when his mom goes out of town. So we'll get to catch up on what's goin on and share stories about squirrels, rabbits, and cats! Until later - K-Dog out - woof!

I would've written this sooner, but the last couple of months have been a whirlwind around here. I finished Level 3 obedience, Mom and I did some travelling, and I got a sibling! His name is Elmo, and we've been bonding for the last few months. He's a canine gent similar lookin' to me - muscular, kinda short and stocky, and fun to play with. He has more energy than I do, but I like to play more often. I can do this cool move where I spin around in a couple of quick steps. I'm short, but agile. Like Mom says, Elmo's go the speed, but I got the moooves!
