Arrival Story:
My husband and I have had a hard year - we lost two of our beautiful australian shepherds (Ted & Tigua) and we lost our old pal Poo, a beautiful siamese. So it was just the two of us and our faithful aussie girl Desi. We have given Desi tons of love and have had a lot of fun, but she had been showing signs of lonliness for a companion - she has never been without a companion. So the search was on. I wanted to rescue a dog in need and my husband wanted a puppy. We found a puppy through the Aussie Rescue and Placement and completed the paperwork. We were approved, but the puppy was no longer available. We were told about Marley (then his name was Levi) and we set an appointment to see him. My husband said "this dog's gonna have to knock my socks off" as he really wanted a puppy. We really both wanted a dog with a laid back personality and a dog that would be able to have fun and get along with Desi. So the 3 of us went to meet him on November 6th. He apparently blew my husband's socks off because he came home with us that day!
Bio:
Marley is a very sweet boy. He thinks he is a lap dog. We believe Marley is the result of two blue merles being bred together, explaining how white he is. We believe he may have some slight peripheral vision loss in his right eye - it seems to cross in just a bit too. Other than that, he is a crazy, fun-loving, playful boy. We love him very much and so does Desi. We are working on more pictures, but are finding that it is hard to get them - he is such a wiggly, active boy. We'll keep adding more as we get them! We found out in July, 2006 that Marley has epilepsy. He was constantly "fly-biting" so we had him checked out. In Aug, 2006 Marley had a partial siezure, but seems to be doing better now. This dog is a ball of energy and as sweet as can be!
