I've Reclaimed My Home

Bubba is gone. He peed in the house and it caused Food Lady and Walk Man to talk really loud when Food Lady found it. But life will get peaceful again. I'll miss the late night walks, but I can live.

My food bowl and water bowl are mine. My bed will be mine. Food Lady is mine. Walk Man is mine. I am my own dog. I am mine.

Walk Man took me to work though. I missed animal planet. I think he couldn't get in the house. He was so excited to send Bubba home, that he forgot how to get back in the house. Food Lady came and took both of us home.

I had to warn a lady about setting fire to a pumpkin. She insisted. I barked at her. I keep hearing people ringing bells tonight. Everyone is dressing funny. Except Food Lady. She's in her comfy clothes. I made her stop working to type for me. I'm getting on top of the bed. No Bubba tonight!!!!

This is Food Lady. Max has been such a dream this weekend. He is trying so hard to be good to Benjamin. Its a joy and an honor to be able to love them so easily.

Training Bubba

Training the little Benjamin/Bubba is hard. I have to show him EVERYTHING. And what do I get from it! Not much. He steals my treats. He slows my walks. He makes me show him who's top dog. But, he can go downstairs and he's pooped outside three times now. He learned how to jump on the couch.

I'm not sure I can forgive him for peeing on my rug, but Food Lady gave me a new one and cleaned up the spot.

I have learned something, too. Being a bit more cuddly isn't all that tough!

Saturdays

I really like Saturdays. Even with Benjamin visiting it was fun. Food Lady has these things called "errands" to run. She doesn't really run, she drives and I help. She bought us some cheese to share and when she wasn't looking, I licked the cream off the top of her mocha drink. I made her do her pilates and I supervised making sure no one came near the studio while she was working out. Ben was with me too. I'm going to call him Bubba. We also went to Mounds. Ben got a new halter and I got treats. I was very nice to people today.

We also went to the park. Ben doesn't get it. I had to stay close to him. But I ran a little. Ben a/k/a Bubba wouldn't run. He kept trying to be carried. I barked at him. It didn't do a bit of good. I thought I'd help by playing chase ball with a new friend. He was really nice and his dog and his friend were nice, too. I know Food Lady can't run, so she doesn't mind when I play with others.

It was a busy day with Food Lady and Ben. I like that. She gave me special treats. But I'm trying to share my house with Ben/Bubba.

He isn't always good. He peed in my house. I wasn't amused since it was on one of my favorite throw rugs. He did it on purpose. That's why he's a Bubba.

Being a host to little Benjamin

Food Lady is being really nice to me right now. She's feeling guilty because I have to share with Benjamin while my Oma is gone. So far, I get some extra treats and I got to play all day. They felt since they sent Benjamin to doggy day care, I could go at the same time. At first, I was nervous that Walk Man was going away for a while, but Food Lady came and got both of us after it got dark. I sure was happy to see her. Benjamin acted that way, too.

Food Lady yelled at him. He pulls and bites her hair. Then he tries the same with her fingers. She made him get off the bed when he tried that. She was really mad.

He sometimes gets a little close when I am eating or chewing my toys. I have to growl at him. It works. But I have to watch him all the time. He actually tried to hump Food Lady. She caught him and she said "NO!" really loud again. He gets that a lot now.

I'm a really good boy in comparison. Sometimes, its tough to be the older kid. You have to teach so much and tolerate even more.

I Like Being Brushed...but leave my tail alone!

I really like the brush. I try to hide my tail though. Its always matted and knotted so it hurts. Food Lady is also the Brush Lady. She isn't too bad at it. But she does my tail and I have to move. I know she notices but I don't want to hurt her feelings.

I'm a day closer to having Benny around. I don't know what I'll teach him first. I'll probably focus on "this is my house and everything here is mine". After that, it will all be fine. It's a basic.

I smelled the Cake on them and all I got was meatballs....

And I'm lucky because I love the meatballs. I had a busy weekend. I took Food Lady and Walk Man to the park. I took them shopping. I kept them busy. Then, I got the birthday thingy ready. Food Lady helped with the card. He really liked them.

I heard Benjamin is staying with us this weekend. I haven't shared in a while. They will be watching. I get to go see Kayla, too. I can't wait.

Walk Man has a BIRTHDAY

I'm not sure what it is, but he's supposed to have a happy one. I guess I'll have to take him to the dog park. It works for me.

Trying to do my Job...

Food Lady says my only job is to be loved and love her and Walk Man back. But, I have this thing about other people in my space. I think I'm supposed to bark at them and be ferocious. It always gets me pulled, told "no bark", and/or a sit-stay command. And I'll do it again. I will. I have to since I want the job that I was born to do. Oh yeah, chasing squirrels is also part of my job. I will do my job, when I'm done sleeping.

What am I?

I'm not asking this in the sense of a philosophical rhetorical question. I just want to know. Food Lady said she was changing my "primary breed" again. I don't get it. I'm a dog. Who cares what kind? I'm a dog. The only thing is that my good friend, Benny, is pure Bichon. So he can go to a Bichon Bash. I want to go, too. Next time I'm groomed, I'm asking for the Bichon "do". We'll see if I "pass".
