gone away

Mommy has been off of Dogster for quite a while so she is just now reporting my death.
" On May 10, 2010 we took Honey in to the vet to make her trip to the bridge. It was such a hard thing to do. After all, how does a person really know for sure when the time is the right time? She was having such a difficult time in getting up & down & walking. She fell constantly. It was just a matter of time before one of those falls resulted in a break. Her kidneys were beginning to shut down & I was so afraid that she was in pain but not showing it. Anyway, it's over now & we miss her so very much. she was a wonderful, sweet, loving dog & such a joy for her 15 years with us. We love & miss you Honey & always will. Till we meet again, Honey, God bless you! mom & dad"

Beach Time Again

Well, mom & I got to go back to FL to the beach again this year. Dad just couldn't get away AGAIN. We had a great time though! Mom's friend from her childhood came from Portland OR & spent Mon thru Friday w/us. She was very nice so we enjoyed having her. They talked so much though, they had not seen each other in over 25 years, I didn't know humans could talk that much! We stayed in a very nice house but it had 3 levels so that meant a lot of stairs & unlike the house last year, this one didn't have an elevator. Mom had to help me up & down the stairs cuz' my arthritis is so bad I have a hard time even walking, let alone using stairs. It was good for mom though cuz' along with that & walking on the beach she lost 7 lbs.! But she says no more stairs for me. She felt really bad that I had such a hard time. Other than that it was wonderful! I always love being away from those boys & having mom all to myself. And I just love laying in the sun. It rained the 1st night we got there & then was sunny the rest of the week. If you have never been to the beach, I recommend it highly.

Back to the beach!

Well, here it is 2008 & I just realized that I never wrote about my our trip back to the beach last year! Oh well, on to this year. Dad couldn't get away from work this year so mommy & I got to go to the beach all by ourselves!
Plus daddy had already taken time off to go to China back in April, then he & mom went to New York in July so he thought he needed to stay home. Even though daddy is always lots of fun I really felt special getting to go w/mom, just the 2 of us! It was a long drive but she made me a comfortable bed in the back & I could ride where ever I wanted, back on the bed or in the front seat by her. It was great! She stopped & let me get out & stretch etc. a lot of times too. Then we got to the beautiful house but the only thing I didn't like about it was all the stairs I had to climb. It didn't help my old arthritic hips any but but I did ok for an old gal! The house had an elevator but mommy is claustrophobic & she figured I would freak out by it so she only used it to transport our stuff. Dad sometimes carried me up the stairs the past 2 years when I got real tired but mom couldn't do that. But it's ok. Then we spent our week lying around on the beach, taking walks & naps & just had a wonderful time! I missed dad but not those stinky boys or the grouchy cat! I hope we get to do that again soon!

Vacation

This past week I got to go on vacation with my family. We went to the beach at Cape San Blas, FL. We stayed in a real pretty house right on the beach & we had SO MUCH FUN! I didn't even mind the l-o-n-g ride there. I got to spend all day & night w/ mom & dad (& my little brother) for 8 days. I got to swim & lay on the soft white sand. It was great! My brother played ball everyday which is what he loves to do. I can't wait to go back & do that again! While mom & dad were unloading the van after we got home, I climbed back in the van & laid down, I was ready to go back!
