She had come into the shelter with an injury that was preventing normal bone growth, the decision was made to amputate. After 2 weeks they called and said it was time for her to come back and be put up for adoption we told them there was no way we could part with her and we decided to adopt her. Bio: Tacoma required an additional surgery in December 2003 to remove the bone at the joint. The original surgery only removed a portion of the leg, that eventually became infected and needed to be removed. Tacoma has overcome great obstacles at such a young age, but she's fully recovered and very active. I've Been On Dogster Since:
