My video, "Anything for Turkey Bacon!" has been a big hit on Dogster, which is humbling and exciting at the same time. Well, come to find out that my video has also been voted Best Video of 2006 on Dogphoria! How did a little girl like me ever get so darn lucky?

I'M ALL BETTER! :o)

Yeah, I know! I'm always late to update my diary but, you see, I'm all better now and all about running around and playing! I've been soooo busy! I have alot of time to make up for since I've been sick. People to lick, doggie butts to sniff.... you know how it is.

Anyhoot, my grandma came to visit me two weeks ago and she must have been good luck because when I went in on Saturday (two weeks ago) the vet said I didn't need any more bandages! He gave Mama some topical stuff to rub on my wounds. At the time, my side had closed and I had an eeny opening on my back. We went back this past Saturday and everything is closed! I am officially "whole" again! My wagger's been waggin' ever since!

Mama and Daddy bought the vet's office some See's chocolates and a card to show their appreciation (and mine). You should have seen how fast they cracked that box open! BOL! The GREAT news is that I've been able to get out and about and the parents have been taking me everywhere! Oh, and I don't have to go back to the vet's for three more weeks! I'm a little bald on the side and my back but my fur is growing back. Right now I get to wear cute shirts but I DON'T appreciate the one I got that says "Spoiled"! What's that supposed to mean Mama?

Something Bad Happened to Me! :(

Well it happened over Christmas at my grandma's house. I got bitten by a big dog, scratched by the cat and then I got REALLY sick! So sick that I had to go to emergency and then overnight at a vet's for two nights. I was shaking, running a fever, vomiting, had a low white blood cell count... I WAS BAD! For a long time they couldn't find out what was wrong with me. Well then mom and dad took me home and saw blood on me! So I went to a new vet this time. I like him much better. Well he shaved me and found out that my skin was dead and infected on two big spots on my little body! About 25% of my entire body! He told mom and dad that I must have gotten into some type of chemical which ate my skin and made me sick. So then I had to go get flushed with antibiotics to fight the infection and be rebandaged every other day. One time mom saw them unwrap me and it made her REALLY cry alot!

Well, now I'm down to two bandage changes a week... every Tuesday and Saturday. I'm choosing to make a fashion statement out of the bandages that I have to wear... (If you can't beat 'em, join 'em, right?) My first was red, second -- yellow, third -- purple, and now I'm on my fourth, which is my personal favorite: PINK!!! The doctor said at the last visit that I was progressing and healing very well and that I'm about a week ahead of the game now! :D VERY GOOD NEWS! He said it will still be long before I'm fully recovered but at least I'm getting better!

I want to send special thanks to my cousin Leia and my wonderful friends here on Dogster who send me their prayers, hopes, and wishes of wellness! It has helped me more than you'll ever know! Kisses to everyone!!!!!!!

My sweet friend is gone...

This morning I checked my pawmail and learned from Pepe's mom that he has passed today. This was such a shock as Pepe is only two years old! I didn't even know he was sick. I have only known him for a short while but have become good friends with him. He is a sweet, tender soul who will greatly be missed...

Wherefore Art Thou Leia?

Haven't heard from my cousin Leia for a while.... hope she's okay... Am thinking that, due to the fact that her Mama is 19 that she's got better things to do than log her pup onto Dogster. Still, I miss my Leia, that wonderful Pup! Maya's out there too, her Mama's even busier! My mama's busy too... she works wiff people ALL DAY... says she's enjoys tha doggies more. Don't know if she'd still feel that way after seeing what us doggies go through in a day! *sigh* Kisses to all my girls and boys on Dogster!

What have I done?!

Oh dear! I'm afraid that I've hurt someone's feelings..but NOT ON PURPOSE! You see, I have my dear friend Tallie, who I just started pawmailing again. And then, there's Teddy...who is new and I just met him. They are both very wonderful doggies. Teddy just proclaimed his wuff for me and that's when I learned that Tallie had a crush on me...so you see my dilemma!

I'm worried that I hurt Tallie, but I am just not ready to decide yet. I'm young and want to get to know both of them better. Nothing wrong with that, is there?

Ah well...time will tell.

On another note, I am SO EXCITED because my mom and dad are taking me to Carmel this weekend! They say it's "dog friendly," which is great because that means I can go just about everywhere with them! I'm telling dad to make sure he brings the camera so I can share pics of the trip with my pals!

Fine Dining

Well, I know it's been a while since I've written in my memoirs but a dog's life is hard when you try to keep up with your humans. This last weekend I went with my mom and dad to San Diego. I didn't know it but I was in for a treat. Well we got back and then my mom and dad took showers and mama started painting her face like she usually does when she's about to leave me! I thought for sure they were going to this work place they always leave me for but then they took me with them! We went to this place where they ate and dad had wine -- but you can imaging my amazement when they gave me my own bowl of water! AND THEN mama ordered something for me from a special doggie menu! I was thinking, HEY I LIKE THIS PLACE! Well, the food was pretty good and I had some sticks to chew on, but next time I'd like to try the wine... just kidding. It smells yucky anyway. So I asked mama what this place called and she said a restaurant. And then I said, no mama what's the name? And she said Terra.

We're definitely coming back to this place!

What else will Mama do to me?

Today I thought we were going for a walk. I was so excited -- I couldn't wait. But Mama fooled me! We went to this weird place with lots of other doggy smells, it made me very scared and nervous. Well Mama was talking to the lady at the counter about getting a "license" for me and then we had to leave. We went to this place I've been to lots of times, which also has lots of doggy smells. Mama calls it the "vet." Turns out Mama thought I had been "vaccinated" against rabies but I hadn't! She only found out when she tried to get me this "license" thing. Whatever. All I know is that I was stabbed with something sharp and I didn't like it! So then, finally, we get to leave that dreadful place only to go back to the first dreadful place -- I think it's called the shelter. Well after Mama did some licensing thing, I heard her say something about a "microchip." Well I was real nervous after I heard that. I had no idea what that meant but I knew it was unpleasant. So someone came out and stabbed me with something bigger and sharper but I didn't cry! I was a big girl but golly Mama, what's the deal? I forgave Mama 'cuz I can't stay mad at her and she looked like she felt pretty bad on her own. So now I've been vaccinated, spayed, chipped, and registered and boy am I tired. Didn't even get my walk! I don't feel like it now anyway.

But you know what? I've heard about someone called "Katrina" who's mean to people and animals, so I know not to feel too bad for myself because I'm very lucky to have my Mama and Papa with me. I know they feel pretty lucky too.

I'm Baaacck!

Hello all, I'm back from my vacation to see my family in Tucson, AZ. I had so much fun! I learned how to be a dog while I was there because I simply idolize and adore my two older cousins Leia and Maya. Leia is super cool. She kept defending me whenever Maya got a little aggressive. Of course, I could handle it myself -- I just made it LOOK like I was getting pummeled. All I did was play while I was there -- oh, and bark a lot. We went up some mountain and it rained. Then my papa locked the keys in the trunk so Leia, Maya, and I were wet and cold and stuck on the mountain. I think I wound up being the warmest one there because my mama brought a sweater for me. My auntie Julie, mama, and cousin Leia were all miserable, but I didn't mind. I love being outside and seeing new things. I was so happy to get home last night and boy was I tired! I do miss my family, though. (sniff, sniff)
