Arrival Story:
polly came to us a few weeks after september 11, 2001. as an empolyee of american airlines, i couldn't escape the tragic event - going to work was a constant reminder, then i would come home and watch the news a cry and cry and cry. our family had been looking for a pup for a couple of years, but hadn't agreed on a specific breed. in an effort to cheer me up, my husband brought home this cute little (4 lbs at the time) pup and our lives have never been the same! i know that it's not the best idea to buy a pet for an emotionally distraught person, but in this case, she was the perfect medicine. she went to work with me, then my daughter and i would spend the evenings dressing her up and just watching her funny little personality develop. all of this caused enough of a distraction to get me through such an awful time. several years later, she's still a constant source of joy and love for our entire family

Bio:
even though polly didn't arrive at her forever home through a rescue organization, she urges anyone interested in bringing an animal into their lives to check out rescues and shelters first. her personal favorites are www.italiangreyhound.org/rescue and www.danerescue.net. she says these groups gave her the best siblings a girl could ever wish for. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Newsflash!
