torturing his big brother, taunting him with the toys/rawhide, being alpha, being on driver's lap in the car, play-play & more playing with Scout
being alone, mom not holding him, being in the other room or outside when mom or Scout are not
Scout, his big brother!!!

A smile a yard wide! Escaping the fenced in yard and running around to the front door or garage side door to be let in
Max Winston was at the humane society 3 days. He had previously been placed at someone's home 4 months but her dog, Abby, did not like him so he had to go back to the pound. He was very sad but got another chance when he was selected to come home with us. He is working hard on proving himself to us that he earned his second chance.
He likes to paw his brother, Scout, to play with him every night. They play bow and wrestle each other to the ground and then when it is bedtime, they race each other to bed. They love to go to the dog park and romp with all their friends.
Happiest dog ever!!

Me and my brother Scout went up north for christmas! I was soooo happy when Mommy put me in the car with all our toys and food. I love to go for car rides but that sure was a long one. It didn’t bother Scout because he says he has done lots of long rides with them. Before we went up north, we went to Grandma and Grandpa’s house and got toys and foods. They even gave me and Scout some turkey, that poor bird! But yummm, it was so good.
Then while we were up north, there was lots of snow to play in and pee on. I love to mark up my winter wonderland. And Mommy and Dad took us for walks twice a day, yay! It was real cold too, below the 0 number on the round thing. Once when Dad took me and my brother, we didn’t have leashes. Cool! I took advantage of it and ran away… It was fun being on my own but I got cold and scared. I stayed in the backyard of the house I ran behind and Mommy came looking for me. When I saw Mommy, I jumped on her to say “here I am!!” Mommy wasn’t too happy with me. I thought it was fun what I did but I must have been bad. Daddy said to always stay with him and to come when he calls me. Mommy said no, that I must always be leashed! Drat!! So remember if your mom or dad leash you, they do it because they love you very, very much and don’t want you to be lost, cold or scared.

Wow, it sure took a long time to get my mommy to sit down and transcribe this for me. I wonder if she is fat and lazy like Scout? Is she listening while I dictate? The vacation up north at Grandpa’s was a long, long drive like Scout said. They did take me and it was fun except for the parts where we had to go out in the boat on the water. I don’t like water and the boat was loud and bumpy, it scared me. Mom and Dad were with us every day and my other Grandma & Grandpa came up north to see us too which made me and Scout happy. We went for walks everyday all over these hills and fields and some park where they hit a little ball around for nothing and chased us away. I slept with Mommy at night and Scout slept with Daddy. Shhhhh…. Don’t tell Grandpa. Scout was supposed to sleep with me and Mom but the bed was too small.
And then some time later, Scout and Mom left me and Daddy home alone. They went very far out west in some plane that take off in the sky and then crash down somewhere else. He was going camping with other shibas. Daddy said they don’t have camping for dogs like me. I don’t know why?? But Dad said he was happy to be home alone with me and he took me for a walk everyday in the morning and at night. He gave me popcorn and watched tv with me. I was very happy when we went for a ride and saw Mom and Scout again. I jumped up and down in the car to see them. They were gone a long time and I thought I would never see them again.
I have been hurting myself lately. When I jump down from the couch or bed, my knees hurt and I cry a little. Mom got worried so she took me to the doctor and they said that I have something wrong called Patellar Luxation. It means I can’t jump anymore from high places. It is so bad that my Mom and Dad are thinking of keeping me off the furniture because I would need surgery otherwise which cost a lot of money. I want to have fun, I am little guy and I like to run around. That would be awful if I can’t jump anymore?? Oh noooo…. How do I get me a pay pal button? Do I go on ebay? The Max Winston foundation for luxating patellas… How does that sound? Then I could be the fun little dog I’ve always been. Mom! Dad??? Oh no…. Mom is getting a gag to put over my mouth now.. mmmpghtht….

I have been remiss in giving a progress report since I have been in my new home. I love it! Scout is the bestest brother any tibbie could ever hope to have. He lets me bugs him to play all the time and it is my favorite thing to do. He doesn’t mind when I sleep on him or hump his head to show him I'm boss. He lets me steal food from him and doesn’t fight back. I can pilfer all his toys and he just stares with those wimpy eyes like he has 4 broken limbs. He is a total pussy, yeah.. he’s a cat. He should be on catster.com, snickers!! But if anybody bullies him, I’ll beat them up, all 15 lbs of me.
Anyways, Scout keeps telling me he is going away very soon with mom and dad. I don’t know how he knows but he says they are doing those things like bringing out bags, moving our things and cleaning up the dogmobile. Should I be worried? He says it is a very, very long drive and you fall asleep, you wake up and they are still driving, then you fall asleep. When you wake up again, Mr. Moon is out and they are still driving. When you finally get to another house, there is an older man there and mom and dad know him. Scout says he likes him because when he comes to visit, he takes Scout for walks and gives him food when mom and dad are busy at work or hiding somewhere. Scout doesn’t know if I am going. I am afraid everybody will forget about me **sad face** I would like to go, I have never been gone away with anybody. It sounds like fun. I think I will go find a little prayer wheel to sit with and keep turning. I hope I succeed. Hmmm, I see a whirligig out there on the grass that might work.....
