Baby Bear Not a Baby Anymore

Since Bear turned 5 on December 2, 2005; he's really not a baby anymore; but we still call him Baby Bear. However, "Baby" Bear has gotten a little, uh.... fluffy. As in, he's packed on a few pounds in his old age. We're measuring out his food (as well as Sophie's), as he really likes his groceries! LOL Too much sleeping these days, and not enough running and playing are making Bear too portly for his own good.

I made them some fresh, homemade dog cookies for Christmas. Healthy stuff; however, I still limit the number of treats everyone gets. Usually they get one or two a day, as reward for "kenneling up" (going into their crates at night to sleep) or some other wonderful thing they've done. :-)

Well, it's been a while since I've updated Bear's diary for him. He'd do it himself, but sunbathing takes a lot out of a dog. Also, having to rotate from the top of the chair to the rug and then to the sofa to 'catch the rays' wears him out. :-)

Bear is doin' good. Enjoying our new house..... oh wait, I didn't post - we moved over July 4th weekend! So the dogs have new digs and are lovin' it!!

At the moment, Bear is in dire need of a grooming - so that is on tomorrow's agenda. New pictures forthcoming.

Woof!

To topknot - or not?

Bear has been clipped short (okay, shaved) for practically his whole life. He seems to like it, and it sure makes coat maintenance a breeze. However, now having two younger Tzus that will be in coat (at least for a while longer), I'm debating on at least letting Bear have a topknot. My hubby thinks topknots and bows are for girls, but I've found some adorable boy topknot bows that would be perfect for Bear and Romeo.

So what say you? Should Bear go with a new topknot do? He'd looking smashing in red, don't ya think? :-)
