Quick Bio:

Likes: Eating, giving smooches (especially after Mom eats!), chasing my sister Tiara, snuggling with Mom under the blankets, napping in my snuggle ball bed, peeking through the fence to see what the neighbors are up to, patroling my yard to check for intruders
Pet-Peeves: Mom being on the computer, getting my nails trimmed, and rain. I also hate vacuums. The first time I saw one, I barked and barked but it still wouldn't be quiet, so I finally jumped in front of it and peed on the carpet. That'll show it who's boss!
Favorite Toy: I love flossies and bully sticks! Anything I can chew on is a good toy.
Favorite Food: Innova Evo, Canidae, Honest Kitchen
Favorite Walk: At a local park where I can meet other dogs and people. I'm very social! I jump and spin in circles as soon as I see my harness and leash. I would walk for miles and miles if Mom could keep up with me.
Best Tricks: Drop it, Sit, Down, Stay, Come. I'm an obedience school graduate! I can also sit or stand on my back legs for a long time and even walk around on 2 legs for a while.
Arrival Story: My Mom's story: My best friend of almost 15 years, a cat named Itty, died in December 2003. I was heartbroken. I wasn't sure how long it would be before I'd feel ready for another pet, but I came across Petfinder.com in January 2004. I saw lots of adorable dogs and cats, but for some reason I kept coming back to Kacey's page. He was in Kansas City, about a 4-hour drive away. He'd been dumped at a K.C. animal shelter without any explanation or information about his breed or history. The shelter called a local rescue group, and that's who put his profile on Petfinder. After several e-mails and phone conversations with a lady from the rescue group, I decided to adopt him. His name, Kacey, is a twist on where I found him (K.C., Kansas City). He's been a wonderful friend and companion, is very smart, and has successfully graduated from obedience school.
Bio: Kacey is mostly affenpinscher, possibly mixed with some other breed because of his curly-Q tail. He's a wonderful little boy!
The Groups I'm In: Affenpinschers----lots of love in small bodies
I've Been On Dogster Since:
Today is my birthday! I'm 2 -- woo hoo! I had the best birthday pawty ever. Mom took me to Petco, where I got to sniff all over the place and grab pieces of kibble that had been spilled on the floor. Then I picked out two bully sticks and two Red Barn bones with filling. They're my favorite chewies in the whole world! When we got home, Mom put a birthday hat on me and took a bunch of pictures. Although I felt completely silly, I humored her and let her do it, since she's so nice to me all the time. Then came the best birthday meal I ever had in my whole entire two years on this planet. Mom mixed beef and eggs together and put them in cupcake liners. Then she baked them for a little bit. When they cooled off, she added yogurt frosting and then it was time to EAT!!! I was really amazed when I took my first bite. I could hardly believe my luck! Then I quickly gobbled the rest down so I could run over and try to sneak part of my sister Tiara's pupcake. I managed to get a big bite of it before Mom stepped in and made sure Tiara got the rest of her supper. She wasn't mad at me though. After all, I'm the birthday boy, so I get to be boss today! :-) After all that excitement today, I'm doggone tired. Happy birthday to me!!! Woof woof!
My family brought me home one day, cradled in their arms.
They cuddled me and smiled at me, and said I was full charm.
They played with me and laughed with me, they showered me with toys.
I sure do love my family, especially the girls and boys.
The children loved to feed me, they gave me special treats,
They even let me sleep with them, all snuggled in the sheets.
I used to go for walks, often several times a day.
They even fought to hold my leash, I'm very proud to say.
These are things I'll never forget, a cherished memory.
I now live in a shelter without my family.
They used to laugh and praise me when I played with that old shoe.
But I didn't know the difference between the old ones and the new.
The kids and I would grab a rag, for hours we would tug.
So I thought I did the right thing when I chewed the bathroom rug.
They said that I was out of control and would have to live outside.
This I did not understand although I tried and tried.
The walks stopped one by one, they said they hadn't time.
I wish that I could change things, I wish I knew my crime.
My life became so lonely, in the backyard on a chain.
I barked and barked all day long, to keep from going insane.
So they brought me to a shelter but were embarrassed to say why.
They said I caused an allergy and then kissed me goodbye.
If I'd only had some classes as a little pup.
I wouldn't have been so hard to handle when I was all grown up.
"You only have one day left," I heard the worker say.
Does this mean a second chance? Do I go home today?

I WAS A LUCKY BOY AND DID FIND A FOREVER HOME, BUT MANY RESCUE AND SHELTER DOGS ARE STILL WAITING. ADOPT A RESCUE OR SHELTER DOG, AND YOU'LL FIND A COOL LITTLE FRIEND LIKE ME! :-)
Yay!!!! Grandpa and Grandma came to visit today. I was so excited! I jumped and jumped and jumped with joy. Grandma gets a little nervous when I get so excited, so I jumped in Grandpa's lap instead. I tried to give him kisses all over his face, and he laughed and laughed. Then I got a real nice back massage from him. I heard Grandpa say something about going out for a steak, so I was really hoping he'd bring me back a nice meaty bone to chew on, but he didn't. :-( Oh well, Mom was so proud of me for being such a nice guy that she gave me a chewy. Yummmmmmmy!!!! I'm dog-gone tired after all that showing off, so I'm going to take a nap now.
