Hey Pals! Sorry its been so long since I barked. We have been busy around here doing this and that.
Boy do I have some news. I started Puppy class (Obedience school) on thursday and that did NOT start off well.
I barked at every single dog and person there. Some lady tried to fit me with a collar (Mom told her she would put it on me) and I almost bit her because I was so nervous. Well it didn't help that she first stuck it in my mouth and continued to try and push it on me not knowing I had it in my mouth.
Then I lunged and barked at all of the dogs coming through the door. Mom finally got me to stop barking and in the ring with the other dogs.
The good news is by the end I was Wagging my tail and much happier. The instructor could tell a difference. Hopefully next week I will remember that I didn't get hurt and I did end up having fun. I wasn't the worst dog trained there but I definitely had some behavior issues.
I am just fine meeting dogs and people on the streets but this was so different for me. Anyone have any advice?
Lots of love,

Oh Meeko, buddy! You are just a puppy. Enjoy life!
Once you get down to the real deal learnin business, you'll probly get focused on that instead of what evfurrybuddy else is doin.
Have fun! Tell your Mom to have LOTS of treats ready for when you do stuff good.
Oh, Meeko! I r so sowwy dat Pubby Skool did nod start off tu gud. Adbice?? Hmmmm...I dunno, Meeko. Dat lady wif da collar weally messed up, bud all yu can du r go back an' start '
gain at da nexx cwass. Dere r gonna be barkin'!! BOL! Dis we kno' fur shur!
If bein' in a gwoop r tu stwessful fur yu an'/or fur yur Momma, mabbe smaller cwasses r da way tu go. My Momma started off bein' by my side in Pubby Skool, bud it wuz tu oberwhelmin' fur hur. Dadda habbed tu take ober aftur da furst cwass.
Meeko, I also started an Obedience class on Thursday! We have a small class - only 7 dogs total. One pup was having problems and the instructor thought that maybe some individiual classes and then easing her back into the group might help. Have fun at your class.
Have dog...got bark!
That's what growlmy says, & I agree, BOL!
But...I think I would be overwhelmed and bark up a storm too...maybe too many pups all at once, got your excitement meter running on full throttle.
But I think once you get used to all those pups over & over you should calm down.
Best wishes and enjoy being a barky pup...well, sometimes, BOL!
Honestly.. the instructor. was careless.. and unprofessional....
I would be asking either for a different class.. OR.. that she back up.. take it ALOT slower.. and frankly.. find some professionalism...
It may take longer to achieve what you want.. but you will.. you do not however need people who should know better being the fools.
I'd be barkin too, BOL! But you'll probably get more used to it da more you go.
There's sumthin' wrong wid barkin'????
Did anybuddy tell Whitley dat??
Bol, nothin' wrong with barkin' but tell my ma that!
Meeko, I agree with some of the above posts, the first class was just too excitin' for you. You'll have 'til the next class to process what happened and practice your lessons. Me an' Tessa were both more ready to listen after the first class. Ask your ma to keep a lookout for when you get bored of practice, then do one last thing you're good at or really like, then quit for a while. Tessa had to be schooled that way. Me, I'll go forever if you give me that treat, bol! And if your ma gets to feeling she doesn't trust the instructors judgement, go somewhere else. Ma has only dealt with two trainers and they were so very different!
Hey Meeko! I bet the more you and your mom work together before you go back you'll be fine. Remember to tell your mom to stay calm so that you can feed off her energy. If she is calm and not barking in class then you will look to her for assurance and direction.
I was very good at school except that I wouldn't sit. Duncan is a barker. He was okay in class but as soon as he got out of the enclosed area, he barks and barks and barks. I think you'll be fine once you get more comfortable around the other pups in your class. Enjoy it. It can be get fun.
