Mushrooms, mushrooms

Mum and I went mushroom picking (again) this weekend. I just love it! It was like mushrooms here, mushrooms there, mushrooms everywhere! I just don't get it why they leave all the pretty ones behind, especially the red ones with white dots on top. What does she mean, amanitas???

I was assisting and being on guard. The moose were nowhere to be found. Maybe they were taking a nap.

Afterwards, I got to taste the sauce Mum made of the black trumpets we picked. It was YUMMY!

Meeting boyfriends and taking long walks

Dear Diary,

I'm exhausted!
On Sunday I had a great play date with two gorgeous boxer boys, Torspo and Severi. Torspo is fawn, and Severi white, and both are lovely! We went to Seurasaari, an island just off central Helsinki and played in the woods. We saw tons of squirrels! Torspo almost caught one, but personally I think those creatures are a bit creepy. Once I saw one who climbed on Mummy's shoulder even though I was sitting right next to her - don't they know who I am?

Yesterday, Sanna and Bava - my friend, a doberman pinscher - took a looooong walk during the day. Sanna had a day off and took me with them. We were out for three hours! Sanna even took us shopping at Body Shop. Bava and I tought it smelled lovely there.

When Mum came home, she wanted to take me out again. I didn't want to go.

I want my Daddy!

Mum and I have been having lots of quality time recently, because Dad has been away in Egypt scuba diving. We've had so much fun, and have been misbehaving quite a bit! Last Friday for example, Mum took me to her office, and I got to stay there the whole day. We ordered in some pizza, and everyone gave me some. I just love Mummy's work mates!

I got to sleep on Daddy's pillow every night (under the covers of course), and drool as much as I liked. I love it when Mummy covers me with Daddy's fleece and I can smell him.

Tonight, Daddy comes home. About time! I'm going to lick his face like there's no tomorrow!

Happy Divali!

Tonight Mummy and I will go to Anita's, where we celebrate Divali, the Hindu Festival of Light. I'm very excited! This is our first time, and I don't really know what to expect. Mum tells me Anita has made tons of Indian food, and there's plenty of gifts, so it must be good!

Time to get myself ready; I'm going to wear the pink feather collar tonight!!!

It's SNOWtime!

It's almost winter! It snowed yesterday, and all the puddles were iced over in the evening. I just love it when I can brake the ice with my front paws. I'm hoping it will snow a lot more before the weekend, it would be so great to play in the fresh white snow!

Mum thinks I've gotten a bit fatter, because my winter coat had SHRUNK and needs adjusting. It's not my fault!

Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

It's been snowing since Saturday morning. There is a lot of snow out there, and I love every centimetre of it! On Sunday, Mum, Dad and I went sledding in the park. It was a beautiful winter's day; clear blue skies and a bit nippy outside. I helped carrying the sledge on the top of the hill after every slide. I also helped Mum with her speed by pushing her a little bit. She screamed like a madman!

In the evening, it's great staying inside in the warm just chewing bones.

"It doesn't show signs of stopping
And I've bought some corn for popping
The lights are turned way down low
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! "

P.S. Remember; don't eat the yellow snow!

Happy Independence Day, Finland!

It's the Finnish Independence Day today! It's a public holiday so we got to sleep late and do all sorts of things we usually do on weekends.
Tonight, we will light up two candles for every window and then we celebrate. Mum has cooked me the best dinner ever - chicken risotto! I got to taste it and it was absolutely delicious! Mum and Dad are preparing a Southern Indian feast - do they think we are Indian? This is FINNISH independence day, for crying out loud! They are SO silly!

We will also play hide (the biscuit) and seek which is very exciting!
I'm happy that we're independent and get to celebrate like this every year!

All my independent doggies
Throw them paws up at me!

Mummy's Little Helper here

Mum and I have been baking like mad today!
First of all, we made an English fruitcake. The dough had some rum in it, so I didn't get to eat a lot. After that, it got better; the second was a Christmas date cake. That was paw-lickin' good! I mean the dough. I haven't tasted the actual cake yet, Mummy tells me we need to store it as it gets more moist each day, and that makes it even better. If it tasted heavenly today, how good is it going to be in the end, I wonder!
Then we made some traditional Finnish Christmas pies that are shaped like a star. The latest, but not the leastest, was spicy gingerbread cookies. That dough will need to be chilled overnight, so the good news is there's going to be more baking on the cards tomorrow!
Mum said I'm the best helper there is because I was right by her side during the whole process. HELLO! I got to lick all the bowls, so where else could I be???

Merry Christmas, everyone!

It's Christmas! Santa is coming in the evening, how exciting! When is he coming? Anytime soon? How many more hours? What about now? What's the time now? Did I just hear his sleigh? Must go!!!

Merry Christmas, all fellow Dogsterers!!!

Love, Rumba

My new "winter coat"

Everyone keeps telling me I have such a beautiful new winter coat! By that they mean my new, thick fur. Mum says I got it because I'm in such good health at the moment, and I guess that's a bonus! This white, soft coat is very elegant, and it sure is easier for me to wrestle when I don't have to wear that red and black version all the time!
