Pooh Bear was a pound dog and he is now safe and will go to a good home. He will be adopted only after following the procedure that has proven safe for the rescued dogs. He spent only 36 hours with us before going to his foster home but we fell in love with him in that time. He is an awesome little guy. He sleeps in this foster mom's bed with her and goes almost everywhere she goes.

A couple of wks ago Bayou came to spend the night on his way to DFW Pug Rescue. Mom was so depressed because Dogster had announced they were shutting down that she didn't take a picture of Bayou. He is a small pug, cute, not a puppy but not a senior. He was sweet with all of us and mom and dad really liked him. He's doing great. He just spent about 36 hrs with us but we liked him and were happy to help him on his freedom ride to Texas. :) Mom posted a picture of us in his spot. hehehe

Missy, Tasso and Max

December was off to a running start in rescue. Got a call from Pug rescue in Dallas. They had 2 Pugs being surrendered by their owner and needed a place for them to stay till they could get transport arranged. Of course I said yes. They are male and female. PRECIOUS babies. Beautiful and sweet, happy dogs. Got along with our dogs just fine. Had them about a week when I got another plea to take another Pug for the same rescue. What's one more? lol Max arrived and I fell in love with him as I had with Missy and Tasso. Max is a very loving Pug/ Would stay on your lap and pass up food to be with you. Sweet boy. The transport was ready the day after we got Max. I had become attached to all 3 but they will be going to good homes where they will have love and families to care for them. So we said good bye to the three Pugs.

If you can't take another pet you could do what I did with the Pugs and the other dogs this page is devoted to. Just keep them for a few days for a rescue. It can mean the difference in life and death for them.

New place

My name is Jasmine. I don't understand what happened but my people took me to a kill shelter and told the people I bite. They left and I didn't know what to do. They put a catch pole around my neck. I was so humiliated. They led me to a kennel and left me there. I heard them talking. They had to hold me for 10 days and then they would "EUTHANIZE" me! I wanted to tell them I do not ever bite but I couldn't. Someone came to feed me and give me water and clean my kennel. They were very cautious of me. I wanted to be loved so I crawled close. The lady rubbed me ears and my belly and called to supervisor. They laughed out loud and said "that is NOT a bite dog", lets see if we can save her life. They figured out that because I am in my girl time, my family didn't want the trouble. Next I think they called my foster mom and she said yes she wanted me. They had to hold me till the 10 days were up then she came to get me. Before I left I had a good sweet bath and my nails were painted pink. I loved the people at the shelter. They were so sweet to me. I came here to this house and more love was given me. I only stayed here for a day and a half then off to the rescue I went. My life has changed so much and all for the better.

Note: IF you have to surrender a pet PLEASE do not turn it in and say it bit just because you are embarrassed to say you no longer want it. Jasmine is one of a very lucky few who make it out after being labeled "Bite Dog". Jasmine is safe and will have a good home after she has been vetted. She is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever had but she is alive only because a kennel worker cared enough to speak up for her. I do not want to know how many are not as lucky.

Another place.

I have been on quite an adventure the past few weeks. Someone found me after I had lost a lot of weight and the fleas had eaten me up. I went to a vet's office to stay a while then to a foster home. Now I am in another home but it's a long car ride to get here. There are other dogs here but the lady said that for now I need to stay in the big kennel in the dinning room. That's fine with me. I am 10 yrs old. I have seen a lot and don't put up a fuss about much. I got a bowl of water and one of food so there is nothing to complain about. Good Night.

Thank ya, Thank ya, Thank ya to Dogster for pickin our diary. We are all excited.

We didn't have our sleep over with the Pugs in transit. Mom and Dad volunteered to drive them 100 miles to meet the next volunteer. One of the volunteers needed the transport to happen so off they went before they ever came here. Oh well. I know it was good for them to get to their destination and settle in while the rescue looked for homes for them. Good luck to both!

Mom heard that some of us have already been adopted and others are on vet hold for some reason or other. All are well except for poor old Aubry who passed away. Mom is still sad about that but keeps saying, she was not happy because she was crippled, had arthritis and she was not enjoying life. RIP sweet old lady.

Woof, yapp, Howl and wagging our tails! This is amazing. We are so honored.

Well mom went to the place again this morning. The doggie jail. It's not a nice place for a dog to have to go. It's loud and it is very scary cause you know they put dogs down there. Well she went and gave baths to a bunch of dogs. She said some are getting "Fixed" so needed to be clean. Some are up for adoption so they really need to look and smell good. She said she wishes more people would go volunteer at shelters because the dogs need to feel loved and just know humans care about them. Volunteers can make such a difference for a dog who is scared and lonely. Volunteers who go to play with the puppies are so nice too.

Oh My! Our diary was picked today. We are so happy. Our foster mom tries to keep up the diary and she does OK. She had word from 2 of us this week that we are doing well and are very loved. She is pretty busy taking care of all the dogs she and dad are housing right now. You know she has Becki who is blind, Millie who is ??? we are still not sure but she is not right. Then she has Annie who is mean to her friends if she does not get her way and Elliot who is in heart worm treatments and.... well you get the picture.

Mom always tells us how lucky she is that she found Dogster. She has friends who tell her stories about their dogs and others that just lift her spirits. Then those awesome days when one of us gets picked for our diary. :) Thank you Dogster for your love of dogs.

Today I go to my FOREVER home. It's a wonderful home. In fact it is so good that my mom already let them adopt another dog she fostered. :) They are so excited and so am I.

Yesterday mom got a dog back. Not good because she and dad already have so many. BUT they never refuse to take back a dog.

Yesterday was a sad day. Mom got word that Aubrey passed away. She was here for a while and mom and dad loved her. She was in such bad shape when she was given up. Old, very over weight, crippled with a leg an owner had kicked and broke and never too her to a vet. She had heart worms too! She died in rescue in her soft clean bed and with the love of a foster family. I know Heaven has welcomed her and she is able to run and feel good again. R.I.P. Aubrey.

OH what a sweet boy. Calm, loving, gets along with all. Likes to cuddle with us and never is a problem. Orlando is house trained and uses the doggie door. I can not find one thing about him that is not perfect. His adoptive parents are so excited to get him. He is loved before he even gets to meet them. I am so happy for all. Orlando will have a wonderful home and his people will be so happy to have him.,
