Elliot

6/6/13 the call that I knew in my heart would come finally came. I had been watching Elliot for weeks. He was at our animal control. So sweet and just one of the most handsome dogs I've met. He was good when I bathed him and walked him each week. It was so hard for me to leave him there but our pound charges $100.00 to take a dog even for a rescue. If the dog is not being adopted they will offer it to rescue for $25.00. I ran to get him. He was not adopted because he is very sick, He has a high positive test result. He has lost weight in the past weeks and he is coughing a lot. He is just an awesome dog so our rescue will work to save him. He is staying at our house for a few days. I have to send him to our shelter because he is so excited he keeps jumping and running and playing with his friends and he coughs so much he scares me. It's dangerious for him to get so excited. I wish I could keep him. He is so sweet and house trained.

Millie 5/13/13

I could not stop looking at her little face on the computer. She looked so sweet. Though she was 2 hrs away I went for her. Millie needed help so badly. She is so very scared and confused and not right. She walks in circles when out in the exercise pen to potty. I am not sure what is wrong. Could be she was living her life in a crate, she has neuroligical damage or she has an inner ear problem. She has been vaccinated, Rabies included. I need to get her spayed and heart worm tested. I pray she is negative. I think Millie is going to be here with us for quite some time. That's OK cause we love her and will do what ever we can to make her life as good as it can be.

5/10/13 I arrived here but stayed only till 5/11/13. It's called an "Over nighter". That's when a home welcomes a dog on it's way to another place and needs a lay over.It's nice here. The people are real sweet to me. The lady gave me a warm bubble bath and cut my nails and cleaned my ears. She talked sweet to me and I feel safe here. She said I am going to a rescue in Texas. She said ABTR will take good care of me. I don't think the man here will kick me. He's been nice to me.

I was surrendered by my mom 5/6/13 to a kill shelter. She had no choice because she has no money of home now. She is running from my dad......he is mean! 3 yrs ago he kicked me and broke my leg. It hurt so very bad but mom tried to make it better. She had no money so she just let it heal and it is useless to me now. It froze up against my body. I also have a knee that is not working right. I have gained a lot of weight cause I like to eat and I can't exercise. I am old now and many days I want to just die. The lady here has assured me that I have an angel watching over me and my life is going to be very good from now on. I believe her. Here I am 10 yrs old, crippled and going to ABTR to start a new life.

My person gave me away!!!! They did worse than that. They gave me to a kill shelter. One who's kill rate for 2012 was 86% Yes, 86% of all the animals they took in were killed. Angels directed them to call my foster mom and she came right away to get me. I was so scared I was in an office with an ACO officer and hid under her desk. They thought I had escaped and looked all over for me. Mom took me here and it has been great! I love her and my foster dad is just the bestest! Mom said I get spayed on Monday and will have my teeth cleaned too. She said I will soon have a forever home where I will never be given away again.

Yoda

Yoda is spending a couple of days and one night with us. He was brought into a vet office when the person who had him did not want him anymore. He is NINE years old. He is going to a friend of mine who is with another rescue in a city near us. He will be taken care of and I hope he will find a forever home.

Aunt Bea

Aunt Bea is a 8-9 yr old femnale Pug, surrendered by her owner. She was in a high kill shelter in Thibodaux, LA. Through connections with rescue friends there she was taken out and brought to a vet under Dallas Fort Worth Pug Rescue. She is now with me after almost a wk ther and she will be going on the Dalls this weekend. She has cataracts and a skin allergy/bacteria as well as an ear infection which is being treated with Rx meds. My hubby and several volunteers will relay her to Texas soon. Some day soon she will be in the hands of the rescue and will one day have a good home. Until she leaves we will take care of her needs and love her as she should be loved. It takes only one person to throw an animal away but many to save one.

6/8/12 Bye Bye

Well I'm leaving. Mom said I am going on to Texas to the rescue and get all my vetting. I'll be traveling all day tomorrow. I love to ride in a car so that's fine with me. Then I will be adopted and for the rest of my life I'll have a great home and family. It all started when I was rescued by my foster mom. She saw me and got me out of doggie jail I'm a lucky girl. I wish all the dogs that need help will get a rescue to help them.

Yesterday a lady came to the doggie jail and played with me and gave me a bath. Today she came back and took me out and brought me to her home. I am so glad. There are other dogs here and they are nice to me. The lady is noce too. She said I will be going to Texas and after I see the vet and get spayed, I'll be adopted out to a good home. I won't be here long but I know I am safe.

PUGS!

5/5-5/8/12 Seems breeds come all at once and Pugs are coming now. I saw a Pug at the shelter near by and got him into a rescue. He was so sweet but he had problems with his hips. Had ear infection and was dirty and smelled very bad of yeast. He didn't walk well. 1 - 1.5 yrs old make we called Tibby. He was in Thibodaux Pound. Was here 5/5 to 5/8 then off to rescue. He was so sweet and house trained. He was so good!

5/23-5/26/12 I took a female Pug that had been surrendered by her owner. 3 yrs old lived in utility room with doggie door all her life. Sweet girl but very over weight. She was a good girl but quite needy. I guess she was making up for the time she was alone. Poor baby girl. Had ear irritated and smalled of yeast. They named her Andora. We called her Gigi. She was house trained.
