DAY 274, Friday, 12/7/12

Both Bob and Tony have been a bit under the weather the past couple of days, which means that I’ve been working overtime looking out for them, but I don’t mind at all. After all, that’s what I do. In fact, that’s what we all do: we all look out for each other. That’s what makes us a family, don’t you think?

We saw a cute picture on the Internet this week. It showed a big brown hound sitting in the middle of the floor, surrounded by a sea of little beads. The caption read, “"The beanbag chair attacked first! I had to defend us!" (Via http://bit.ly/TMepKF). Bob thought it was very funny. Personally, I found it to be inspirational.

I feel sorry for the other dogs who live in our apartment village. Every day, when I make my rounds, I see that all the people have their blinds closed. How are their dogs supposed to look out the window and watch the world go by? I’m thankful that Bob and Tony leave the blinds raised a bit so I can look out.

Bob went Christmas shopping today.

[sing song]
I know what Tony’s gettin’ for Christmas,
I know what Tony’s gettin’ for Christmas,
I know what Tony’s gettin’ for Christmas,
and I ain’t a tellin’.

Remember how my tummy was bothering me last week? Well, now Bob is having trouble with his tummy. I wonder if he chewed off and swallowed the tail of one his chew toys like I did. You would think he would have learned from my experience.

I’m not sure exactly what’s going on, but something’s up. People around here are putting up red, white, and green lights around their patios. And tonight, Tony and Bob came home with two boxes of cards. They both had pictures of dogs with red-and-white caps, and one had a white beard. I’m serving notice right now: if Tony thinks he’s gonna slap one of those ridiculous outfits on me, he’s got another thought coming.

Question: How many dogs does it take to change a light bulb?
Answer: None. We have servants to do those things for us.

Wow! It’s been a very busy week for celebrations. Not only did we have Bob’s birthday and Thanksgiving, but today was Tony’s birthday. Bob gave him a card with a picture of a weimaraner on the front and text inside that read, “Is that a lot of candles or is your cake on fire?” I don’t know why that’s so funny, but they seem to think it is. Oh, well.

Bob finally got around to joining a local gym and working out today. I’m glad. He really needs to get in shape to keep up with me.

Ho, hum. Nothing exciting to write about today. When I sat down to write, this was an empty page. Now it’s not. Mission accomplished.
