Arrival Story:
Copper is initially from a high kill shelter in South Carolina. A rescue group in Poughkeepsie, NY brought her up where I adopted her with the intent to train her as a service dog for a friend. Copper has an amazing temperament and would have been an astounding service dog- if not for her extreme fear of rain. After a few months of trying to work through it, I decided that Copper would not be suitable for service work. Luckily, she had stolen my father's heart and will remain here for the rest of her days. She is a natural alerter and responder for anxiety, and is generally very intune with my father and I. He has a few issues of his own and this little hound was exactly what he needed.
