What now?

Mom took me in the bathroom and put me in the tub. She shampooed me all over TWO times. It sure felt good but I was not dirty. The whole time she was washing me she was saying how I am a lucky girl and she and dad would be taking me to my new home in a couple of hours. She told me again hiw I would go for walks and cuddle with my new person and she reminded me to potty only outside etc. As soon as she finished bathing me she was rubbing me all over with the big thick towel and dad called to her. We went to the kitchen and he gave her the phone. It was my new mom. She changed her mind.... well she said she had an unexpected financial set back and was not able to pay the adoption fee for me at this time. ??? I am not getting adopted? Mom talked to her and said it was OK and she hopes all will go well for her. She hugged me and said she was soooo sorry. I looked at her and she was very sad or maybe just sad for me. Like I really care? Oh please, this is home to me. I've been here 2 years! In fact May 2, 2011 I came here. I'm OK with staying. Poor mom she thinks I am upset. Sure wish I could talk human to her. I love my mom and dad and my friends here. I am fine. One day my home will come. God will send the right person at the right time.

It happened!

I am still trying to get used to the idea. I was adopted yesterday! I was just sitting there with Mom and dad like every Saturday at Petco. I did the sit thing and mom gave me treats. Some little kids came buy to pet me and they gave me treats too. Ike came by with his mom to visit. He is still soooo tiny. Mom says he is not going to grow anymore. Then Cookie and her dad came to visit with us. Cookie is a good friend. She is very happy being adopted. Then it happened. A nice lady who has come and pet me before just started filling out papers and mom said she is adopting me. I am going to live someplace different with a different human. I am so excited. I will be the only dog. I get all the attention and love. I don't know when I am leaving. Mom said it will be in a couple of days. She has to call my new mom's vet and then go do a home visit. I can't believe it. It's finally my turn.

A good day.

It was very cool and some rain today. I stayed inside with my friends and played. Mom and I cuddled for a while and she told me she loves me and knows my special home will come along soon. She reminded me that Cookie and Willow were here a long time. Stormy was here for 3 years! She said I should be patient and enjoy it while I am here because I am very loved. :) She really loves me. Dad loves me too. My day will come soon enough.

I'm not adopted,,,

I went to Petco again yesterday. The people who work there all know me by now. I see some of the same customers there that remember me too. Still I was not adopted. Doobie came with us and he got adopted. It was his first time to go! :( I'm happy for him but ......... when will my turn come?

No home yet!

Every week mom and dad take me to Petco. I like it there. All the people pet me and the little kids like me. I meet new dogs and I get treats too. So many people but nobody asks to adopt me. I don't know why but I mom says when the right people come along I will have my forever home. For now I just enjoy life and dream of my forever home.

Can it be my turn to get adopted next? Please?

My Dogster friend Droopy's message today was just what I needed. Mom and Dad took me to Petco again today for adoption day. It was not adoption day for me. :( Lots of people stopped to say help and I greeted each one with my biggest smile and a wiggle of my butt. (I have only a nub of a tail) They all gave me pets and some kids came by and played with me. People laughed and said I am a pretty girl. None of them asked mom to fill an application to adopt me. I was so tired I slept all the way home.

My friend Doodle's adoption fell through!!! The lady changed her mind about getting a dog....any dog. Mom says that is OK cause she doesn't want any of us to go to a home where we are not 100% wanted.

My friend Willow came today to Petco. Mom never brings her cause she is overweight and very quiet and ..... just not outgoing. Mom didn't bring Doodle cause she had not given him a bath last night so he would look his best. SHE got an application for adoption on WILLOW! I was mad and sad and frustrated but then at the same time, happy for my friend. Willow is a real sweet girl. Quiet and never ever gets into trouble. She really does deserve a good home so I am happy for her. IF all works out she will go to her new "forever home" on Monday. I'll miss her. We have lived in foster care together for a long time.

Bye-Bye

Bye Bye to Sam who left Monday, Katy who left today and Doodle the Poodle who leaves Sunday. When do I get a home of my own? I'm a good girl. I don't make trouble. I love my people and obey the rules. Mon says one day someone will notice how good I am and then I will leave for my forever home.

Mom took Doodle to the groomer last week, Toby this week and Becki goes next week. I don't need to go there. Mom gives me a bath at home. I'm glad.

Thankful for so much.

I have a foster mom and day. I have friends. I have a warm bed and food and treats and I am happy. I don't have heart worms any more. I don't have a crippled leg anymore. I am a blessed girl.

Fun Day

This was a fun day. Bentley. Cookie and I went to Petco. Nobody adopted us. :( We were so good that mom and dad talked about how good we were all the way home. I'm so tired. Lots of noce people and pets. I need a nap.
