This is Daisy's Mom. Last night Daisy went to the Rainbow Bridge. Things had looked so promising after her spine surgery as at first she seemed to be doing well. For some reason Daisy began regressing. Her doctor is baffled by it as he could not find a reason for her continuous regression. Based on the doctor's advice, we assisted Daisy on her trip to the Bridge last night. Her doctor could not see any signs that she would improve. I want to thank all of Daisy's pals for your support through this.

I want to thank you for the Power of the Paw you've been sending to me. My spine surgery was a success. The feeling has returned to my feet and legs, I've regained control of my bladder and bowels and I'm moving my tail. All great news. Now to just get me walking. Then I can come home. Please keep praying for me as I still have a ways to go.

This morning Mama took me to the dogtor to get my arthritis shot. Dr. Longoria wanted to retest me for heartworms to see what the results would be now that I have completed my treatments. The results were negative which means the heartworms are gone! Yippee! We are so happy that I am now heartworm free and I made it through the treatments with no problems. WooHoo!!

The Bestest Night

Last night was the bestest night I ever had. I've gotten in Mama's bed a couple of times but didn't stay too long. Last night when Mama was ready for bed, I let her know I wanted up there. She helped me up and I spent the entire night snuggled up next to Mama. What could be better than that? A couple of times Otto came over to try to get in the bed but I gave him a warning growl to stay away. This was all mine! I think this might be what I do every night. Then they'll all be the bestest!

Mama picked me up from the clinic when she got off work yesterday. The dogtor was bragging on me to Mama. She told Mama that I had done so good and that I was super sweet. We just have to get through these next 30 days and then I should be heartworm free! Yay! The dogtor told Mama that these last 30 days are easier that the previous 30 so Mama thinks this will be smooth sailing. Everybody keep your paws crossed for me! Love ya, Pals!

Final Heartworm Treatment

Tomorrow Mama takes me back to the clinic for my final heartworm treatment. Like Sagwa, I'll have to spend the night and I sure don't like that. Everybody keep your paws crossed that it all goes well. I've been doing great and want to continue so. Mama will pick up Sagwa this evening and bring him home. Yay!

Mama has a really tall bed. Otto and Sagwa can fly up there but I can't because of my hips. Mama hasn't been encouraging me to get up there because of that even though I make it real obvious I want to get up in the bed too. Last night, we were in the bedroom and Otto jumped up in the bed. I put my front feet on the side of the bed. And guess what? Mama gets my bottom half and chunks me up in the bed! Mama said she's never seen anybody so happy as I was to be up in that bed. I had happy all over me. I loved it. With Mama's help, I'll be in that bed more often.

I'll give everybody an update after I get home from the clinic on Thursday.

Another Dogtor Visit

This past Friday, Mama took me back to the clinic for my first heartworm treatment. The dogtor told Mama I would have to spend the night and she could pick me up the next day. Mama was worried I would think I was being abandoned again. When she left me at the clinic it was obvious I was really scared. She was so worried about me. She called that afternoon to check on me and they told her I was doing fine.

The next day she came to pick me up, and I was so excited to see her! I was wagging my tail like crazy and giving her kisses all over her face. Then when we got home I crashed. I slept most of the day and night. Mama thinks I may not have slept while I was at the clinic.

It's been a few days now since that first heart worm injection and I'm doing great. I have to go back on Saturday for another arthritis injection but Mama will be with me the whole time and I won't have to stay.

Everybody keep your paws crossed that I continue to do good.

Dogtor Visit

Today I went for my first dogtor visit to see about starting my heartworm treatments. Mama asked the dogtor to check me for arthritis. They did xrays of my hips and spine and heart. Other than having arthritis in one side of my hips and the heartworms I am healthy. The arthritis is too advanced for oral glucosamine, so today we started injections. I will get injections once a week for a month and then I will get injections once a month for the rest of my life. We are going to start my heart worm treatments on Friday. I'll have to spend the night at the clinic and Mama can bring me home the next day.

I hope y'all will pray for me that I will get through these heartworm treatments with no problem. I'll keep y'all updated on my progress. Loves you all!
