How I Was Picked

This is a short story about how I first picked a puppy and the things I didn't learn. I see all these cute newborn baby Bichons and they are so sweet. I wonder why the breeder where I got her told me they looked like little rats when I asked her when could come and see them! I didn't like the comment that I received from her. I was put on her list to see the puppies first and come to find out she let a relative see the first. Ok no problem. When she finely let me see the puppies at 4 weeks of age, she handed me one and I feel in love with her (Diamond). This lady has been breeding for 15 years and didn't even know how to mark a pup when someone picked one. She was using nail polish and it didn't even work. I kept close tabs on who I picked visited once a week. 3 looked alike with eye coloring around the eyes and 1 had 1 pink and the other eye dark and a pink nose. When I paid the remaining payment and had the pup in my hands she asked me if I was going to breed her I said no unless you want to use her. She flat said no to me and also added the pup has an undershot jaw and wouldn't advise breeding her. ( Talking to others this lady should have reduced her price). She knew all along. When I took her to the vet for her first visit I asked about this thing in her tummy area and the vet told me it was a small umbilicus hernia and could be repaired during her spay. ( Still the breeder kept something from me.) I'm sure her vet seen it. So when you pick out that cute fall in love face ask questions and exam the pups. I didn't! But I studied about the Bichon, but didn't do my homework well. Trust the breeder also. I wouldn't trade Diamond for anything in the whole wide world. She is perfect and she is so sweet. I like to think our puppies chose us as well.... My mommy didn't get to play with me I was out in a barn with an enclosed room with heat and heating pad under the plastic box and a rag. I had 4 sisters 1 died at birth. My mommies visits consisted of her holding me in the warm room. It was March and cold outside. The Breeder didn't offer at all to go somewhere else to interact at all. There were also Papichon Puppies and Papillon Puppies. In this same small room. The best time in all was when the weather warmed up I got to play with all the other pups in a pen outside! Patricia "Diamond" I'm So Happy My Mommy Picked Me!
