Arrival Story:
I first saw a Leonberger in the pet store. They were beautiful and had to have one. I came home to research them and to find a breeder, not an easy thing to do. About a year later i found one in Pennsylcania. I pakcked up the car and away we went. Since then i have been the proud owner of this gentle giant and wouldn't have it any other way. I have had him now for 5 years and he is the best dog ever.I would resommend this breed to anyone, they truly earned the nickname Gentle Giant that is exactly what they are.

Chance was diagnosed MOnday with a very rare but fatal disease. It is called Megaesophogus. It is nuerological and is genetic. Hs is slowly losing muscle control which starts in the esophogus and they lose the muscle control to move the food from that point to thier stomach. It is a hard to understand at first but i have found a great support group with lots of good ideas. We are plugging along and hoping for the best. Please be aware of this disease it is not just common for this breed but many. Not any cure at this point but hopeful one day there will be.
