Dogtor Visit

My dogtor visit didn't go as good as my furiends Doo and Austin. When Mama and Daddy got me, Mama would notice that I would occasionally cough but it wasn't so often that she thought much about it. The week my Daddy passed away, Mama noticed I was coughing much more. So she took me to see the dogtor and get it checked out. Turns out, I've got heart worms! Mama was upset about it and told the dogtor she had been giving me heart worm preventative since she got me and that she had been told I was on it before. But the dogtor said I couldn't have been on it previously. But he said it is treatable. I'm doing a month of antibiotics and then we will begin treatments. And you know what else? He told Mama I had to lose ten pounds! That I was obese. Mama has changed my food and I only get one treat per day now. Poor Otto can't have more treats than that either cause if he gets one, I have to have one. Well, let's hope that I get through these treatments with no problems and get rid of those nasty heart worms!

Aww, Sagwa, we're so sorry about those nasty heart worms. But fear not little friend, mom's 1st Weimaraner had them too and she came through the treatment with flying colors and lived to the ripe old age of 13 1/2! Be sure and keep us updated.

Austin has to take an antibiotic too because of his toof that needs to be removed. The vet wanted to make sure there's no infection when it comes time for his teef cleaning. (The bad thing is Austin hates human food, so mom can't hide it in anything like cheese or such. So what she does, is opens the capsule up and sprinkles the powder on the new canned dog food we're getting, mixes it in real good and Austin eats it all up with no problems at all and never the wiser.) ;o)

Sorry about the vet visit...

OMD! Sagwa...We will keep you on our prayer list.(already had your family on there but will add the new stuff) Tell Momma to divide the amount of food you can have per day into smaller feedings. Even save a few out for snacks. You won't get so hungry. You won't throw up from eating to fast. Your tummy will be more content. You will lose weight. The extra weight is hard on us puppers....I have always eaten this way. Cuz, when my peoples are nibbling, I wanna nibble,too... Gma Uses some of my kibbles for training sessions. Fur Doc says, I am in great shape! Most of the doxies tend to be chubby...Soon I'll be 4 yrs. too... Kisses, mazy
