Nicknames: T, precious, baby, Tiegan the Heathen (I pronounce her name Tee-gun. It's an Aztec name that means 'Little Princess in the Big Valley')
Birthday: December 17th 2004
Likes: Sleeping under blankets and in shirts/sweaters (while you're wearing them), curling up in laps, chewing toys, getting all the attention from visitors, giving lots of kisses, going outside, and licking your toes.
Pet-Peeves: Caesar getting food/toys/attention/treats that she wants, being chased by Caesar, not putting her on the bed/couch when you're already up there, being cold.
Favorite Toy: A little blue bear, and a stuffed lab puppy-- I think she pretends it's Caesar when she attacks it. She really loves destoying paper and toys that have eyeballs she can chew off, but mommy won't let her have these anymore b/c she eats them.
Favorite Food: Treats! I don't give her human food, so I made sure I got a really good kibble-- Nature's Instinct Variety. Have you looked at what's in your dog food? O_o
Favorite Walk: T loves to go outside. She normally just explores the yard. I don't take her to the park much, since I'll end up carrying her.
Best Tricks: Kisses, out, get down, come inside, sit (sometimes). She walks and stands on her hind legs, and she converts people who don't like 'rat-dogs.'
Arrival Story: I'd been looking for a long-haired chi puppy, and after some failed attempts at adoption, and not finding any long-haired chi puppies that I liked (that were at a reasonable price), I decided to look at short coat puppies... only they were all gone! Finally, I saw an ad, and the breeder had what I wanted. I met her that very day after work. I wanted a fawn pup, and only Tiegan and 1 of her sisters were that color. It took about 3 minutes to decide, and I got Tiegan. She's been super sweet (and pitiful) ever since. ^_^ When I first got Tiegan she was 6 weeks old to the day. She only weighed 14 ounces (less than 1 pound), and she was about the size of a can of coke.
Bio: T is 5.9 lbs full grown. For people that think they want a 2lb or less dog, trust me, you don't. T was constantly getting hurt when she was that tiny, and she couldn't even get up and down the stairs. 4 lbs minimium is much better. Everyone still thinks T is a puppy and can't believe she's full grown. Here's how big T is: legs- 5"; height (floor to the top of shoulders)- 8"; back (from the base of tail to nape of neck)- 9".
Forums Motto: Did you say treat?
Favorite Past Time:: Finding a way to sit on people and sleeping someplace warm.
Yesterday, mommy entered me in a "Cutest Puppy" contest. I'm not really a puppy, but the rules said you just had to be 2 yrs or younger, and that's me! Mommy made me a new orange sweater (well, it turned out being a vest) w/some white ribbons. I can't put up a pic b/c I've hit my max of 50 and don't want to delete any, haha. I hate clothes, but mommy was really excited and said it was for the football game that day... so I only fought her a little bit. Everyone thought I was sooooooooooo cute and loved my sweater. ^_^
There were lots of big doggies, and I was kind of nervous. Also, kids kept coming up and reaching for my face. Mommy tried to tell them to let me sniff them 1st, but they're just kids so they don't always listen. After a couple of hours I was hot and tired and didn't want to hang out w/anyone. I even ran away from a tiny yorkie! When it was our turn to walk across the stage, mommy brought out a treat and got me to do a little dance. Everyone said "awwww" and laughed.
I didn't end up placing tho. =( Mommy said it was age discrimination b/c all the dogs that won were actual puppies (less than 1 yr old). She said she knows I'm the most precious puppy in Knoxville, and all of her friends/family agree. She said there were some puppies there that would've been tough competition, but none of them placed either, so the judges obviously don't know what cute puppies look like.
But I did have fun. And I got a "Year of the Dog 2006" pink t-shirt and some handmade treats from River Dog Bakery. I loved them so much that mommy promised to get me a birthday cake from there. ^_^ Yay! I love treats! Mommy says you can look at the treatstore at www.RiverDogBakery.com
Mommy got really upset today. She was painting in the house while I was downstairs sleeping. I woke up and yipped for her to come get me. She did, of course and let me go get some water. But while she wasn't looking I fooled her and ran over to the paint can. The next thing she knew I was licking the lid to the can. She grabbed me and ran to tell daddy what I'd done, but he just said to read the warning on the can. It said "Do Not Eat. Call Poison Control Immediately." This scared mommy, so she called the vet. They gave her the number for poison control. Poison Control was very nice to mommy and said nice things to calm her down. They told her that latex paint wasn't toxic (even tho I'm so very small) but I'd probably get sick with "GI" problems. I didn't know what that meant, but mommy keeps saying "runs" and "puke." Are those fun? I like to run! So far, I've just been drinking a lot of water (paint sure dries you out) and sleeping. I haven't been eating much, but I guess paint coats your tummy.
Mommy says she hopes I don't get sick. She says I'm giving her ulcers b/c I worry her so much. Yesterday I jumped out of my daddy's arms and fell on my back. I cried and cried and wouldn't go near him for a little while. And the morning before that I ran into something and hurt my eye and cried a lot and mommy didn't know what was wrong. I've also walked off the bed (and cried), and last week I fell down a few stairs. And I have a habit of jumping up while I'm underneath the glass coffee table; then I bump my head and cry (it fools me everytime!). Daddy says mommy watches me too much, but she says she has to b/c I hurt myself all the time. Mommy says she can't wait till I'm bigger and don't get hurt as easily. I love my mommy and don't mean to worry her... I just want to play!
