Come in, said the spider to the fly! Geesh!
Just kidding!!!!! Come into my cozy, toasty kitchen.
Pull up a chair and park your paws....I've been
busy on this cold January day. Trying to forget
it is Ever so Cold Outside.
I made Lazy gal's sweet rolls and bread. Sit
and I'll bring you some nice warm cinnamon
twisted roll with vanilla glaze. Coffee, tea
a bowl of water?????
Staying Toasty With Bread Making
If rolls and butter bread aren't your thing. I have
several kinds of cookies. Even apples, oranges and
clementines. Rest your paws and tell me what is new
at your place. Every gal deserves a break. The laundry
is done. I've roasted in the hot towels and bedding.
It's time to sit back and rest, until time to sling
hash for supper...OMD! We're not having hash,don't
slobber. I'm having pork chops, fried spuds with the
orange orbs from the garden called sweet carrots.
Fresh butter bread....
After supper, to burn up all the goodies....I guess,
I'll have to exercise with Gma. She needs my help or
she cheats and quits way to soon! Gotta watch these old
duffers all the time! I'll finish the day with Zoomies
around all the living room furniture. Up and down the
hall,into the bedrooms....Play a little chase,some
tag and some hide and seek. Close my day by settling
into my big bed in the bedroom, not the kitchen!
I'll zzzzzzzzzz's, snug as a bug in the middle....
Hopefully, it will be warmer tomorrow????
It did make 12....Light flurries and no sunshine.
Windchill? Did want to know! Gma and I are
staying inside. She doesn't want to pull a
sweater over my stitches. They are still there.
I didn't take any medicine today. I don't seem
to be itchy... Thank my dogness for that!

Those buns look pawsome! It would be nice to sit a spell with you in that kitchen.
HD drools when he sees all the goodies and tells Miss Mazy that he will just have a little bit of everything and a nice cold bowl of water will be great! Stay warm Mazy and cuddle in bed with Gma and Gpa.
We had pork chops, corn on the cob and broccoli with a cheese sauce. Sure would have like some of those buns that you had...
Dat food looks yummy!
Oh my dog, you is makin' me hungry!! Yummy lookin' goodies there!
Soooo happy you enjoyed the goodies...So easy to make and we didn't use scratch dough, either. No mixing and kneading. Sleep while frozen dough thaws in your fridge overnight...
Buy your store brand of white frozen, usually five-1 lb. loaves in a bag. Here it is 3.99... Most of us have regular table sugar, cinnamon, powdered sugar in the house. We did 2 vanilla glazed and 1 maple. Can use any flavor of extract you like. Orange,lemon,almond,cherry,etc....Spray oil to grease pans.Any old pan will do.
We just take the defrosted dough smash it out, kinda flat.
Cut the dough into 1/2 to 3/4 inch strips. Mix sugar and cinnamon together....Can light spray the dough with spray oil
Does make sugar mix stick better. We drag the pieces through the sugar mix on our pastry sheet. Your counter will do.
Then with our paws, we play the pieces into ropes..Like playing with play dough....Stretch it out and twist a little. Start in middle of the pan. Lay 1 st.dough pc. down in a circle.
Work your way out to the edge of pan. Pan doesn't have to be filled tightly. The dough will double in size.
WE then spray a piece of plastic wrap with oil spray and lay across each pan. Helps the dough raise faster and keeps dough from drying out.
We've found with the electric oven. Heat oven to 200 and turn off. Wait a couple minutes to make sure it is not too hot for the plastic on top of you pans. Turn light on,rolls in,shut the door. Set a timer for 1 hr. Come back and check....Remove from oven. Heat oven to 350 and bake between 25-30 min. depending on your oven. It was very cold so we raised the dough for 90 min. Warmer weather 60 is usually good.
Our new oven is a convection bake. Our gas ovens of the past were always 25-30 min. too.....
We glaze them while good and warm....Make the glaze while they sit a couple minutes.
Just water, flavoring and powdered sugar. Will be thin...Take a spoon and drizzle it back and forth. Until you have what you want. These freeze well. You do not need to buy sweet foundation dough because the sugar mix and glaze make this sweet enough but not too sweet.
2 loaves of dough, make 3 large 9" pans. You could easy make 4 from 2 loaves. You could use 8" pans too....Years ago, after cutting whatever doughnuts we were going to raise and fry. We'd take the rest of the dough and do these rolls. Buy the way, the maple glaze tastes like Maple Long-Johns do..Very often hard to find in a bakery.
It's EASY,it's Economical...Your family or friends will not know ....you didn't slave all day....By the time you scratched this type of dough...it would cost more than the frozen dough.
Do hope someone will give it a try...So EASY!
I'm gonna fly right down and join you in the kitchen. And, of course, have some of those delicious rolls!
Always have coffee on,water bowls filled an Open Door Policy in this house.....Much like the Prairie days....
