Well, things have been a BIG ZOO around here!
A feral young orange Mommy kitty moved into my fenced front yard.
She has three little tiny kitties with her. They are spitfires!
They are under some decking and took over my front yard.
Now causing me problems with going outside to potty!
The bottle moos have been tearing their fence down.
Invading my yard and being a general pain in the butt!
They were eating Gma's flowers and bushes off. Scratching
themselves on the patio furniture and gas grill. Trying to
come inside the house...Standing on my back steps! This does
nothing for my security alert system...as I go into Yapping
over drive mode! Gma fixed them! A young gal and Gma cut off
all the burnt up perennials and hauled the stuff away.
Big spiders were over running our house. We sprayed and we
broomed off the whole exterior of the house. It's too
EARLY for such Big bug problems. Hoping this doesn't mean a
short fall and harsh winter? We also washed the window trim,
screens and windows. A few windows are left for this week.
Trying to do a few fall jobs before Gma leaves to see her parents.
Friday night the wind came up and blew in a severe thunderstorm.
Bringing hail with it...I tried to scare the storm away but
my yaps didn't work! The power went off as we finished
supper. Stayed off until the middle of the night. We had
flashlights and candles out,as well as our Noah Radio.
We were in a tornado watch. Very little rain fell on our place.
I was afraid and Gma and I crawled under a big afghan.
The temperature went from 93 to 60 real fast.....We washed
our supper dishes by kerosene lamp light.
The hail left leaves, twigs and branches all over the Ponderosa.
Gpa raked some of it up on Saturday for Gma. Gma and I
checked the damage in the garden. We had to make pickles,
freeze squash and cabbage. Pick tomatoes and bring inside.
We threw alot of tomatoes into the sunflower field. The quarter
size hail left big holes and bruises. Knocked off a bunch
of green ones. Blew up alot of the almost ripe ones. The hail
was short lived...Car was in garage and no damage to the house.
Well, we thought we were going to make a big batch of salsa today.
Nope! Gma found out after reading, that she has the wrong kind
of canner for the smooth glass top stove. No time this week
to run to Bismarck to find a smooth bottom stainless canner.
Hope someone will take some tomatoes... Hope to make some when
she comes home. The stove was too pricey to wreck the top
by using the wrong equipment. Never dreamed Gma's stuff wouldn't
work....She loves the ovens... Guess what? The ice maker hasn't
worked since Friday night when the power surged and lines went down.
Give us a break!
On the upside, the new track phone is now straightened out
and activated. Took automated phone tag,4 service persons
and 4 days to take care of the problems..
Her patience was thin but finally all is well with that.
Gpa would have just thrown the whole mess in the trash can!
August has been on the cool side until this past Tuesday.
Shot up into the middle 90's and then Saturday it was 60.
Today is 80 and back into the 90's tomorrow. Gpa is finishing
the last of the haying. He then begins the big task of
stacking the bales. Hauling home about 16 big bales per trip.
It's a very long process before all the hundreds and hundreds
of bales are in the 2 hay yards for winter feeding.
I was able to report on my corner of the world, since Gma
was all tuckered out from the past week. Needed some rest
before we pick up where we left off......Decided to leave
all the root veggies in the garden until Gma gets back home.
This time of the year, you never know what the weather will
I hope this finds everything going well at your place????
I'll be so happy when the fall work is done......I'm taking
charge and calling the Shots until Spring! I say, we are
going to spend tons of Time Playing!
Miss my pals! Kisses,Mazy

We had some hail around here a week ago Friday... two of our cars got some tiny dings... Momma still needs to call the insurance company...
Hope things calm down a little around your place so your Gma can get some rest!! Sounds busy, busy, busy!!
You guys are busy, busy, busy! You take good care of Gpa until your Gma comes home Miss Mazy!
So glad to hear your updates!
Hope your Gma's garden will get through the rollercoaster ride of the weather change as well as foreign invation.
The storms here in New Mexico pick and choose where they want to dump rain, hail and snow. Daddy said he encountered hail that was bigger than anything he has ever seen while driving back from Gallup. All we have seen is lots of rain and mud. Tired of getting our feet washed but have thus far lucked out and not had a full bath.
Most of the workers showed up for work today (plumber was a no show - again), but now daddy is saying we may delay moving to New Mexico until next year since we only have six more weeks until the snows starts. Once the snows start and the weather turns to freezing it will be even harder to get someone out to our place to help with the build of the interior of the house. Building your own home is not fun.
CocoRose and Puff-praying for progress on the NM building of the home. Also a safe journey back to the sunshine state.
Maruko- been awhile since we saw you last. we hope you had a good summer?
Finley-always nice to see you....how's the Heat down there? It's in the 90's today with a HOT south wind of 25 mph.
HD-how jammed is your working schedule with the people? I so enjoy reading what you are doing and who you are helping.
