TROCAIR WAS HIT AND KILLED BY A CAR ON SEPT. 22, 2011. SHE AND HER BROTHER, RIO, DECIDED TO GO ON AN "ADVENTURE" WHEN THEY WERE LET OUT FOR THEIR MORNING CONSTITUTIONAL, AND IN A CRAZY SHORT TIME ENDED UP OVER 2 MILES AWAY. WE WERE FRANTICALLY LOOKING FOR THEM WHEN WE WERE NOTIFIED BY A SHERIFF'S UNIT THAT HE HAD FOUND HER HIT UP ON THE HIGHWAY. RIO MUST HAVE RUN STRAIGHT BACK HOME WHEN THAT HAPPENED, AND HE WAS THERE WAITING WHEN WE GOT BACK.
WE ARE UTTERLY DEVASTATED.

So, I'm trying to be a good big sister, and trying to find games that both Manny and I can play together. One of our favorite games is tag, which sometimes turns into hide and seek. I have to admit, I really enjoy playing this.
I have been trying to get the little guy to play other games as well. I will pick up a toy and go over to him with it in hopes he will play. In the process, I've learned some things NOT to do with smaller pups:
#1... Tug-o-war. This game usually ends up with the pup being tossed like a flailing boomerang.
#2...Pawing at the other pup. This generally sends them sprawling, causing them to yip and run when you do that. Apparently it's not an enticement to play.
#3...Drop a tennis ball on their head. Again, this doesn't seem to entice the little buggers to want to play - for a WHILE. He kind of acts like he got a bomb dropped on him or something. I think he's just trying to get attention....
#4...Mouth "wrestle". BAD idea. Someone usually has to do the heimlich maneuver on me to get the little furball out.
You can't really do alot with these li'l guys, but what you can do is alot of fun. And don't tell mom, I actually have LOADS of fun doing all the things I just mentioned! Ha!

I'm so excited! I love the snow! The man in the tv says we are looking at up to and possibly over a foot of snow to fall starting tomorrow!
I have the most fun when I run as fast as I can, then spear my nose down into the snow and keep running. I like to see how long of a trench I can make, and I enjoy the feeling of it on my snout.
Another fun game (which also involves running at top speed) is to get as much momentum as I can, then leap into the air and come down in the snow with all fours...then bounce, bounce, bounce as many times as I can.
This usually wears me out, so when I'm done bouncing and pouncing, I like to roll in the snow then just lay there for a minute while I catch my breath.
Then when I get thirsty, I'll scoop huge mouthfulls and chew 'em up.
Right now there's freezing mist so there's a tough crust on the snow we still have. Not real good for trying to jam my face into, let me tell ya! BOL!
Aaaaah. Nope. There's just nothin' better than snow....except dog cookies, maybe.

I decided that since my li'l brother, Manny, has been making a diary, I might as well too.
Well, I'm really my daddy's dog, even though mommy is the one who picked me... I love my mommy so much, but daddy is my chosen person. I absolutely love going for rides in the truck with him, and I sleep on the floor on his side of the bed so I can make sure he's safe while he sleeps.
My favorite thing is to play fetch. I will play with anything...balls, frisbees, sticks, rocks, pieces of grass or bark...there's nothing that isn't fit for a good game of fetch! Then when I get bored with that, I love to just run. Run, run, run and run some more! And I love to bark while I run....then run, bark, run, bark, and so on! BOL!
One game I really love to play with mommy is hide and seek! She usually gets me to running laps around the yard, then while I'm not looking she will go find a hiding place. Sometimes it's behind the tractor, the back of the truck, behind the wood pile, up on the deck...and the sneakiest she's ever been was to get INTO the truck!
I love life on the farm, and I love my family. Life is good!
