Arrival Story:
Jakie was rescued by the Dachshund Rescue of North America (DRNA) from a puppy mill in WV. We don't know the details of his rescue but he was put in a foster home in Harrisburg, PA until a family could be found for him. He was 6 months old and cute as could be. After much back and forth, me and his aunt Christine made the 9 hour round trip to get him. The foster dad told me that it was if he knew I was coming for him. They had 20+ dachshunds in the house at the time and when I sat down, he jumped right in my lap and stayed there the entire ride home. Jakob was truly destined to be our dog and he'll never know how much joy he has brought into our lives.
