Are there recommendations for how much ground flax seed could be given per pound of dog?

, Jo is Diabetic on insulin, deaf and blind, but he soiders on. He eats go out to the backyard and does his thing and gets around pretty good. He has occassional seizures which pass pretty quickly. He can't jump up on falls down the steps sometimes, but all and all does well. I sometimes feel that he's in pain. I wonder if dogs just down or do we wait until he has no quality of life? Than you?
