What kind of collar?

What kind of collar could a dog who slips out of a choke chain wear?
Just wondering, thanks!

Well, if you want to stop pulling, lunging, jumping, running away, etc, then I would recommend the Gentle Leader Head Collar. Victoria Stillwell, Jet's trainer, and many other dog professionalists recommend this product, and it's rated five stars on this website where you can buy it in a few different colors and/or patterns:

PLEASE paw mail me if you need more information, or have questions, concerns, or anything else! Hope this helps!

Lots of Licks,

Both the choke chain and head collars are training tools you only should use while walking the dog on lead. They should come off when the lead comes off. I keep mine on the leash. In the past I have used choke collars extensively and never had one come off a dog on lead.

The trend is away from choke collars towards the head collars. Some dogs need no more than a Martingale, kind of a fabric version of the pinch collar.

I usually keep my dog's tags on a flat collar.

If your dog has a sleek, narrow head, like a Greyhound or Whippet, try a wide-banded martingale collar. If he/she is unruly on the leash, try a Canny collar - it's a head collar similar to a Gentle Leader or Halti, except the leash connects at the back of the neck like a traditional collar, eliminating the "whiplash" effect that can occur if the dog bolts. Good luck!
