Essential oils work great. Cedarwood, Evergreen and Geranium oil works amazing. The Geranium oil works the best though. Try one of these oils (Geranium, like I said works the best) and no more fleas on Miss Boo!

Aster

What all have you tried? Has it included any of the safe, effective remedies from the vet? I would start with Capstar. It will clear up the fleas withing an hour or 2. Then go with Advantage, Revolution, or whatever your vet suggests.

You may need to treat your house and yard too. Be sure and use a product that kills the eggs too. or new ones will keep hatchingout.

Please don't let you dog suffer while you try essential oils or other home remedies.

Ruby

I completely agree with Aster. I have my dog and cat on Revolution year round, so no fleas for my babies. Once you apply Advantage or revolution, whatever you decide to go with from the Vet, you will kill all the fleas on your dog, however, there will be fleas in your home and yard, thousands and thousands of them. Best bet is to call an exterminator. You may still see a few fleas afterwards from time to time, this is because no pesticides can kill the coccoon....but the pesticide will prevent them from maturing and biting......so soon enough your flea problem will be gone. Keep Holly on flea control always or you may end up in the same situation again.

Dieta

I've been having problems with Frontline that is one preventative that works pretty good for a time.

I was told about Capstar knocking them right off and ticks. But, it is temporary I think for one day. I think you should look into those as well.

Sometimes fleas can become intolerant to some of the preventatives in stores.

Try Frontline.

People are always telling us that they have tried "everything". When pressed, they admit they got those "drop things" from the discount or local chain store. Those do not contain the same, effective ingredients at all! Products available at the veterinarians will work and will work well, IF they are applied correctly and often enough. Also, remember, you must also treat the dogs living environment as well. You need to frequently vacuum, wash, and clean to prevent eggs left behind from hatching. Good luck!
