Please Help!!! Our Mini Poodle Had Serious Aggression Problems and Attacks Us

We have a 1 y/o mini poodle, who we really need help with his aggression…about 95% of the time he is great, but he also has a mean side (which has come up in the past few months). His 2 big cues are if he finds something on the floor and takes it under the table, when we try to take it he will attack (bite & break skin) and when he lays in my spot in bed (we let him in bed and now trying to keep him out). We are trying to work on the dominance (not letting on furniture, first out door, etc), and think he has developed resource aggression issues, but cant figure out how to fix them. We love the dog, but need help…we are broke and cannot afford a trainer or behaviorist, but need advice... Please HELP

Both issues you are describing are Resource Guarding. Not letting him on furniture and going out the door first won't do anything to address the issue. Drop the dominance thing. Then check out this book: www.amazon.com

Kolbe is correct... this is resource guarding and had nothing to do with dominance and who goes out the door first.
In addition to the book Kolbe has recommended I suggest you go over to the Forums section and post this issue in the behavior and training section.
It is MUCH easier to help with a problem like this on a forum post because there is the ability to ask questions and post more than one reply.
