Freestyle?
I just got into freestyle and want to teach it to my beagle Daisy. I know all the training books say to start when they are young, but Daisy is 5 years old. I was wondering if it is even possible to train a 5 year old beagle to do freestyle and if so, any tips?

One thing I've noticed with training books in general is that nearly all of them are geared toward young dogs / puppies and very few of them are geared toward working with adults.
Generally speaking, you can train a dog for Freestyle at any age. Freestyle is mostly about extending your obedience training and having fun with it, unless you want to really compete in it. I know a number of people who started freestyle with their adult rescue dogs and all have really enjoyed it.
The Canine Freestyle Federation has a great article site here www.canine that might be helpful to you. It has a lot of info on how to get started and what to start with.

I freestyle just for fun with my 10 year old dog Cookie sometimes.

Any dog can be trained no matter what their age. Risa and I started canine freestyle training in March of last year when she was 3 years old. I got her when she was 2.5 years old from a shelter. She had had no prior obedience training.
As far as tips, keep it fun! Find moves Daisy likes to do and see if you can train a unique move for her. There are TONS of videos on YouTube that can help inspire you. There are even a few videos that show you how to train certain moves.
