Dog runs from camera.

My Grandmother adopted a (we think he is anyway) Yorkshire terrier (Cody) from the animal shelter about a year ago. He's a very sweet little dog who gets along with everyone. We just find it very odd that he can identify cameras, whether it be a cell phone camera, a point-and-shoot, or big DSL cameras. I would understand if the flash scared him, but he just sees something that has a camera and he bolts for a hiding place. I don't know, it's just kind of funny. How would he know what is a camera and what isn't? Just a random little query.
