American Cocker Spaniel
I had asked a question putting up a photo of an "American Cocker Spaniel" asking whether its purebred. Thank you all for your answers but I'm surprised by a few answers and I'm disappointed that most you don't read where I am located, you guys tell me to go see the breeder, AKC registrations and other stuff which is not applicable to India.
Getting a purebred American Cocker Spaniel is almost impossible in India, thats why I seeked your help.
Also for those of you who wanted to know whether I would want to breed my dogs, the answer is NO. I am in love with Cocker Spaniels and would like to have an American Cocker as my pet.
So now that you guys know where I am located and the challenges in this country if you have any suggestions please feel free to post.
Also we dont have AKC here, we have KCI (Kennel Club of India).

I did notice where you live, but I still believe you need to actually find some one who breeds these dogs and will have BOTH parents and also have the health certifiications done. And, seeing the parents, or at the very least, seeing their photos is absolutely a condition I would expect. A pedigree is also not out of the question. No matter where you are, there are responsible breeders. I would contact your kennel club for referrals. There ARE Am. Cocker breeders in India, and they ARE being shown at shows in India. You will just have to work a bit harder. Good luck!

I did note where you lived, so did not discuss AKC, but I was unaware of the KCI. I think that is a great resource to access if getting a purebred is important to you. They should be able to give you the names of reliable, ethical breeders. I do repeat that although the little guy looks cocker, as you said there are many challenges in your country, so I doubt, based on your own info, that he is a purebred. The reluctance to provided papers up front is a huge red flag. I also repeat that one month old is too young to be separated from the litter!
