French Lake Dog Park

Park is FULLY fenced. There is grass and trees! many dog parks have dirt and no trees and that gets hot and gross. Yes, sometimes people leave the piles. But for the most part, it is okay. Large enough to move to different location if there are hyper dogs around. Usually BIG water dogs in the two ponds. One pond is really for ducks only, the other is always full of Labs and retrievers. Considering the low number of fully fenced, off leash dog parks w/ grass and shady trees, I'd say this rates a 5 in my book!

A small, but friendly park. The pond is kind of gross, though.

A lovely park, but...

French Lake Park has lovely scenery; there are plenty of trees and hills, and even a pond. There are several great spaces to chase balls and frisbees, and the bridge over the pond is a nice touch. The dogs and owners that frequent the park are all very friendly and kind. In terms of aesthetics, French Lake Park has a lot more going for it than other parks. Unfortunately, all the trees and hills and the lack of a defined walking trail make it easy for dogs to disappear to do their business. Of course, it's the responsibility of the dog owners to keep a watchful eye on their dogs, and I've had to step aside dog piles throughout the park, not just in the woodsy parts. Heck, once there was a mess right in front of the entrance gate! Other parks aren't as pretty, but I appreciate being able to walk without keeping my eyes on the ground.
