4 Mile Run Park either changed a lot or is confused with Shirlington Park (off of 4 Mile Run Road)Over the past weekend, I went to the 4 Mile Run Park, which looked deserted and creepy. There were no dog parks and the body of water there looked more like a sewage system. I was so perplexed, I thought maybe I went to the wrong park. There happened to be 2 police cars there (hint) so I stopped one and asked them if there's a different 4 Mile Run Park that we haven't seen because we can't find the dog park. The officer looked at me strangely and told me that there is no dog park at the 4 Mile Run at 3100 S. Glebe Rd. So... either the park once had dog parks and clean water, or it was mistaken with the Shirlington Dog Park which happens to be off of 4 Mile Run ROAD, which is about 5-10 minutes away from 4 Mile Run PARK. Don't make the same mistake I did, the 4 Mile Run Park is no place for dogs. Maybe not even for kids, it's a bit sketchy. posted: July 23rd, 2008 |
This dog park is terrific! There are separate fenced areas for large and small dogs. The park is large and has a walking/running path, plus an area where dogs that like to swim can go play in the creek. I found 7 little dachshund friends in the small dog park, and even went and ran with the big dogs! The entrances are double-gated, so no one gets out. |
Bear Dog Park EVER!!!!!My mommy took me here a few times and I loved it. Not only is the park big and fenced in but the park has two streams where we can go swimming. It even has a small water fall. It's the best dog park I've been to thus far and I can't wait until my mommy takes me there again, even though it's almost an hour away from house. Can't think of a better way to cool off in the hot summer days, then to go for a nice cool swim at Four Mile Run Park. I'm looking forward to going here real soon since this time, my little brother Bono will be joining me. |
