Gold Ribbon Rescue, Inc. (GRR) was founded in 1998 to meet three objectives. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization as recognized by the IRS. GRR's main function is to provide a network for sheltering, rehabilitation and placing Golden Retrievers in permanent homes in Central Texas. GRR’s second function is to provide public education about responsible dog ownership and, in particular, about the Golden Retriever breed. Third, GRR provides a forum for Golden Retriever fanciers to meet. Who but another Golden owner can appreciate one’s fondness for that special dog? GRR members assist each other with advice and information about training, health problems, and local dog activities. Occasional social activities include the dogs and give GRR members and friends a chance to meet and enjoy the company of Golden Retrievers. Gold Ribbon Rescue is an all volunteer nonprofit corporation. It is recognized as a rescue organization by The Golden Retriever Club of America, Inc. Member dues, adoption fees, fund raising activities and donations finance its activities. Donations are tax deductible. GRR does not discriminate based on race, religion, age, national origin, language, sex, sexual preference or physical handicap.

Pomeranian Rescue is dedicated to rescuing Pomeranians and other petite breeds. Our mission is to find these dogs new, loving homes, and to provide appropriate vet care. We work with many animal shelters to help reduce pet overpopulation and the number of animals euthanized by local shelters. The number of animals taken to shelters has been increasing at a staggering rate. Many have have very little contact with people and may need learn how to interact and trust people again. Most of these dogs are resilient and will respond quickly to love and attention. It has been said that rescue dogs are extremely loyal companions because they can sense that they have been given a second chance at life. Because you are giving them the attention they deserve, you will also be rewarded with a pet that will always show love and appreciation, he will never forget that you were the one that saved his life. Some of these animals have also been abused/neglected and many need major surgery or medical care due to their neglect. We pay for heartworm treatment which can cost as much as $400. It is very painful and risky, and many of the dogs we take in are heartworm positive. We also pay for other types of life saving surgery and depend on from donations received by individuals, we do not receive federal funding or grants to support our rescue efforts. We are a Federal 501(c)3, all donations are tax deductible. We also accept donations in the form of dog food, treats, blankets, beds, crates, toys, kongs, etc. Please contact us at info@ponderapom.com, or 512-796-5564, if you have items to donate or any questions about where to bring them.

Texas Great Pyrenees Rescue, Inc. ("TGPR") was started on January 2, 2001 because one pyr lover was thrown head first into the problems of backyard breeding in Texas and its inhumane treatment of pyrs by finding a breeding pair of dirty, mistreated, unloved great pyrs in her own urban neighborhood. From that person's experience of seeing the lack of responsive rescue assistance for such pyrs in need, TGPR was created to provide an organized group of caring members to help the overwhelming number of pyrs in need in Texas. From its humble beginning of just a few individuals, it has grown to be an organized, responsive, professional rescue organization of over fifty members dedicated to helping pyrs in need on a statewide basis. In its first year of operation, it created a website for its rescue operations, started an email group to keep in close correspondence with its members, set up an unified accounting/reporting system, acquired its 501(c)(3) non profit status with the Internal Revenue Service, and managed to place 52 pyrs in new homes and help over 30 more into safe situations. In its 2nd year of operations, membership grew and more areas of Texas were covered. In the 2nd year of operations, TGPR placed over 130 pyrs into new homes and expanded its network of statewide contacts. In its 3rd year of operations, TGPR placed 180 pyrs into new homes. It is anticipated that TGPR will place just as many pyrs in the coming years since the need for rescue assistance has not waned even with increasing the public's awareness of the terrible problems of pyrs being sold and placed inappropriately in Texas. TGPR's motto has been "Successful rescue isn't done by one, but by many". It is only with the assistance of all Pyr lovers in Texas that TGPR will have continued success in helping unwanted and abandoned Texas Pyrs-in-need.
