“The Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County is a private, non-profit classified by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c) 3 charitable organization. The expenses for our services and programs are funded 100% by private donations and bequests from individuals and businesses, grants from foundations and trusts, and various fund-raising events. The Humane Society receives no funds from state, city or county government. ”
Humane SocietyBoth of our dogs Lola and Chippy (formerly "Tippy") were adopted from the HSMSC and I'm very pleased with their service. Even when they accidently forgot to mail the microchip information off, they were more than helpful and prompt and got it mailed after a phone call. If anyone in the Memphis area is considering adopting an animal, I definitely recommend the Humane Society as they have a wide variety of healthy animals, both dogs and cats of varying ages and backgrounds. If you have an animal that was adopted from the HSMSC, then join our Dogster group! Invite your friends as well, if they have adopted or are in the process of adopting from them! Let's get the word out about this wonderful facility. :-) posted: November 8th, 2007 |
