“This letter is written to make everyone in the community aware of an organization called Animal Resource Center (ARC) who desperately needs your help. We know some of you have heard of us and support us, but did you know that we are trying to raise money to build a no kill shelter, even though we are already operating? Let me explain. We have our non-profit status and we have three kennels that we currently use, however, they are not all in one place, which makes it very hard to show animals in order to get them adopted. If our outtake is low, then our intake is low. And believe you me there is a great need for intake in this area alone. We need YOUR help in raising the money needed for such an endeavor. If you got the calls that we do, and heard the desperate voices on the other end begging you to help, you would understand why we need your help. What would you do or where would you turn, if all of a sudden you had to surrender your pet? Not only do we get calls for help to take an animal, we get calls about strays or an animal that someone has just dropped off or thrown out of a car. We just got a call about a blind Cocker Spaniel that was thrown out of a car, into the creek. Of course we had to take it, what else would we do? We will see if surgery will help restore his eyesight. A Jack Russell, 5 months old with a broken leg, was going to be euthanized. Why? Another Jack Russell who needed leg surgery, a Black Lab that needed knee and hip surgery, a Dalmatian tied to a guardrail on a busy road, a cat that was hit in a parking lot, and another cat that was mauled. These all cost us money, money that we depend on the community for. In the last 2 months alone we have taken in at least 6-8 animals that all required some sort of surgery. Where does the money come from? It comes from people like you. Without your help we would not have been able to help these wonderful creatures. Thank you all so much. Now we need your help even more. We NEED to build this shelter in one location, but we can't do this Without your help. We 'need major funds. We have a lot of wonderful dogs and cats that need homes. Unfortunately, with the small kennels we have, we are full and cannot take anymore. One bigger facility would allow us to take and help more animals in need. We help to educate the public and we try to help families find homes for their animals when needed. We offer hope when there is none. We have a Sponsor a Pet Program (please call to find out More about this. Without this bigger, centralized shelter our funds and space are very limited. Won't you' please, please consider donating to this wonderful cause? What, I wonder, will happen to all of these wonderful creatures, if we cease to exist? 6.9 million animals in the United States every year are put to sleep in kill shelters. Their fate is in your hands. Please let your conscience be your guide ”
